Very harsh on Maurie isn't it? He's always been 100% committed to both the club and the town. He's injured you fools, he's not like Gary Wheeler taking the money and inventing an injury every week. Maurie put himself up for selection with a broken arm not so long ago and would do so again.

He has been a very good signing for Saints and has given us tremendous service. I hope he gets a proper send off, whether he plays for us again or not.

On Faasavalu I agree. Anyone stating that he 'doesn't want to risk an injury' has never had to recover from a serious problem that required an operation. The fact is he is still injured, hence why he isn't playing.

Maurie got cleared for full contact training only last week and according to Potter after the game will be considered in a fortnight.

For me he adds grunt, and impact off the bench, Emmitt is in the Hargreaves mould, I would choose Maurie in two weeks for certain.

I wouldn't pick maurie again for saints. The lads that have filled in deserve to keep there shirts for the rest of the season.

You can never knock Bryn's effort or commitment to the cause but I still think we've made the right call letting him go looking at who's coming in. From the looks of it you'd say he's being replaced as a number 3 or 4 prop by LMS who for me is a step up in class.

Still think we need another prop, especially if emmitt is gone, that's maurie, bryn, emmit and foz out and perry and lms in. Either frodsham is about ready to make the step up or we are going to convert cloughy to full time prop, which he could do IMO and possibly use dixon as extra cover?

I would imagine Clough will move to prop - he is pretty effective there. I hope Frodsham can put his injuries behind him though and step up too.

I agree we are prob a good prop short next year if we wanted to be picky but im pretty sure perry, graham, LMS and tony p will hold there own.

Clough will shift between prop and the backrow and will do a job at prop but i think letting emmitt go will prove a mistake.

I don't think any of our backrow other than clough can play prop, all to small and not strong enough.

I thought Hargreaves was poor first spell, not for want of trying though. He got knocked back on several occasions but during his second spell he wasn't being knocked about half as much, he did OK.
