It was more clumsy than dirty. Still deserves a decent ban, looks like he's broke his arm anyway.

He should be released for that. Shocking and completely needless challenge that has cost us our season. Hope his arm hurts a lot tonight.

100% sending off and IMO warrants a 4 match ban.

Well, he will be allowed to enter an early guilty plea because he hasn't been sent off or banned before - at all, I don't think. He's an idiot rather than a dirty player. That doesn't excuse him - I never excuse Meli! - but he has no record of this kind of play. The red card was definitely the right decision.

How long a ban he serves will depend on what he's charged with. His charge will probably be a dangerous tackle, which it definitely was.

Already cost us a try so why not go for the full house.

Meli will be out for longer with injury than he will for the ban. Shocking! It was worse than Mathers on King.

After watching it back on Sky Plus, I reckon that's the worst contact with the head I have seen in 30 years. Meli is seriously lucky he didn't kill Hall there, the way his head flopped about knocked me sick.

I would expect the most severe punishment possible from the RFL and I would be disappointed personally if he doesn't apologise and if the club don't condemn him for it and discipline him internally before the disciplinary meets.

It was a stupid and desparate challenge, but he is still worth keeping for one more season, alongside your big mate wello.

It was about as bad a challenge as you're likely to see. His only defence is that he wasn't actually trying to kill Hall, and it was gross negligence rather than intent. He might get away with that defence because (a) it was high speed, rather than a head-on-line-'em-up hit; and (b) his previous record is pretty good.

However, it was bad. He'll not be playing for a long time, whether he's dislocated his elbow or not.

Very bad challenge. Thought it was stupid and clumsy but don't think he set off to hit hall. As others have said it was a shocking challenge and halls head movement was sickening. Lucky enough he was fine, could have been very bad

It was a bad challenge, but that hardly makes his previous efforts this season worthless.

Will and should get the book thrown at him, but lets not use this as an excuse to ignore his good rugby up until this match.
