If rumours coming from Wigan are true, would he be worth a punt?

Personally we have enough in the forwards, but could there potentially be some utility value in him?

Are you serious? He's a great player but can you honestly see Saints fans accepting that creature into our club? It would be suicidal of McManus to even consider it. Not a chance.

Yes, he has his issues, but no more so than we've had players with issues in the past.

If there was even a glimour of a chance I would expect Eamonn to be on the phone making it happen!

I think he's a fantastic player and if we did sign him, however unlikely and purely hypothetical this is, I'd find it more funny than anything else because of how much the goons would hate it.

It was a hypothetical question being worth a punt, as the rumours are yet to be confirm.. Having said that many on Cherry and White are consigned to the fact that Hock will not be wearing the Cherry and White hoops for much longer!

As Ski has already said he runs some devastating lines and has a mean offload when he's drawn in 2-3 defenders into a tackle.

I understand he's had issues, and it would be a risky punt taking him on board, but he would add another dimension to our one up rugby we normally play. (we have yet to play a game under Brown yet so can not pass comment until we see what sort of tactics he uses)

Well for me if he wants to go, you can have him with pleasure, but remember he’s still more trouble than a barrel load of monkeys!

Why the hell would we want Hock with the amount of backrowers we have???? If anything upfront needs strengthing and Half Back before we can consider signing a backrower. Personally I dont want Hock if he's available or not.....

He is a talent, not sure what he has done this time.

I'd keep away, more trouble than it's worth. He may be a good player, but it doesn't make up for him being a thug.

hock is one of the better players in the world, and is better than most of our back rowers, however i would not want him any where my club.

i also believe whoever he players for he will miss at least 6 games suspended

I would hand my season ticket to Eamon personally if we even put an offer in for him. Hock is a horrible person, his ability doesn't have much to do with it.

Id fill his contracts with terms and conditions but on his day, he is absolutely destructive. See how many people would give a monkeys if he notched the winner against Wigan at Old Trafford.

I’ve heard from my mums brothers bests mates girlfriends aunties cat that allegedly he has been caught doing something he was banned for not too long ago... if you get what I mean...

That would depend on what he had been doing with it. If what I heard is correct, it involves the same thing but is something different he has been doing with it and is now in trouble with a different authority - if you can figure that out? From quite a good source I heard it so could be true

I wouldnt want him in our squad, we have just signed the most devastating second rower in SL for hitting a line, strong running and offloads in Willie Manu, and have still got Soliola, Wilkin, Flanagan, Clough, Boof, TP that can play in back row if necessary. Dont need him, dont want him, and if Wigan are prepared to get rid after they stood by him through his ban must be something VERY wrong

Got a message last night to say he was having shoulder surgery and all is good at Wigan

apparently this is a smoke screen. He was seen in the gym a few days back. Also reports say he was in a sling weeks back. I think its a bit of BS coming out from Wigan Athletics FC stadium. Also the thing about him missing the first 6 weeks of the season was released way back when... It was even in the papers.

Brilliant player - wouldn't have him in the Saints squad if he paid us to play here. Utter poison that we shouldn't even contemplate imbibing of. The comedy value of winding up the Pie fans just wouldn't be worth it.

And we're loaded down with quality 2nd rowers now so it's impossible to see what we'd do with him anyway, even if we did have the spare cap space. Let him go and rot the rest of his career away in one of the Hull circuses instead.
