Someone I know was having a drink with the Wigan players after the match on Saturday and asked Harrison Hansen about Sia's tackle. To which Hansen replied......

"I saw myself going in under the posts dragging us back into the match then that big bugger came out of nowhere and hacked me down"

That tackle was definitely a game turner.

I thought he was in myself, I couldn't believe it when he went down.

I think Sia's been a great player for us. He can play as a narrow forward for the hard drives, or hit angles wider out.

There was a comment made by the sky crew (probably bill arthur) during the last match, something along the lines of
"The Wigan players on the pitch are nursing a few knocks, most of them caused by Sia Soliola!"

Each to their own. I think Sia is married though, so Harrison might have to look elsewhere for his meat.

He is married.....two kids i think, one of them is only a week old.

Was a great tackle. He just managed to clip Hansen's shin with his hand. Could have been a game changer. But wasn't to be.

The same same could be said for Shenton's last grasp ankle tap on Tomkins when Sam was about to race under the sticks. It's big effort's like those that make all the difference.

Shenton always made a couple of big tackles on Tomkins during the DW play off match....defensively Shenton has stood up of late.

have to agree with that he has put in some very important tackles during the later part of the season.

Sia has improved as the season has gone on in my view. He missed a few and came out of the line too much early on.

Ive liked from watching him at sydney roosters and he was always a stand out player, any player who is a regular starter in the nrl is a quality player IMO they are on a different level to super league and to be fair hes had abit of bad look with injuries and fitness and he looks like hes got his match fitness back at the right time quality player IMO wouldnt mind him at warrington

his physical presence on the field is amazing the shots he puts in and he runs hard what more can you ask for

He's only 25 as well...

I was a bit unsure at the start of the year but I think he's been awesome for the last 3 or 4 months. When he uses his brain and doesn't fly out of the line all the time he is top quality. He hits hard, takes it in hard and his work rate is fantastic. If he continues his good form on Saturday with the rest of the pack we'll be fine.

I think he's a brilliant player in my opinion. massive hits!

His hits remind me of Freddie about 10 years ago.

My favourite player...............his best asset is that he never gives up.

Sia is a beast. We should get him signed upto a longer contract, top class prop in the making this guy

Speaking to a friend who plays at saints, Sia has been told to stop going the gym and doing weights cos his arms, shoulders and chest are to big

His shoulders are huge.

Sia is one of the players that the opposition look for when they are defending. They keep a close eye on him.

His defence is outstanding, big hits all day.

He's already a favourite. A prime example of how to be ferocious yet fair in defence (wigan take note). He makes opposition players avoid him, disrupting attacks against us

One of biggest hitters when tackling in defence and always takes three guys to bring him down in the line... much like TP... another forward like either of those two for next season and the loss of James Graham will not be too great

For me we need to be signing some key players like this long term if we can. I'd have no issue with sia getting a four year deal. Same for lomax and if gaskell continues the same for hime next year.

The NRL may draw sia back but if we can keep him we may have a cracking forward for years.

I cant say that there are many key players given our youth structure but big hard hitting forwards are hard to develop and we have lost three half backs in the last year so we can really afford to keep letting other teams poach them.

Sia doesn't seem to be a player who is too concerned with the bright lights and big stage, it's more about his family and whether they are happy. He seems to be at the moment.

If he ever thinks about leaving, we can just tell him he can't get Xbox Live in Australia, he won't know it's not true.
