| I hope this lad Is given a proper off season. I dont just mean a month off but the same time as the other lads to prepare his body In the gym for the next nine months.
Yea he'll miss the first month of the season, but with the silly top eight playoffs we can afford a number off losses If that happens. In fact I think Id say the same to Roby and Wilkin as well.
Thoughts, agree, disagree a load of old bollox?

| I agree that Jammer should be given a good, long rest. He puts so much effort into every match that he deserves his own special holiday period. And when he returns, I sincerely hope Potter makes sure he is properly spelled so as not to totally ruin the man.

I thought jammer was awesome last night.
I think he should be give a good rest to get fresh for next year but IMO should start the season just as all the other guys should.
I'm sure jammer will get enough rest and be back for start of super league.
Roby is same, he should get extra time off as with graham but wilkin should report back same time as the guys who ain't played for the country.
He's had last month off really and some might say he's had a years rest

He was outstanding. He really got us rolling forward especially in that first 20mins and was our main man imo during that spell even though Burgess and Eastmond took the glory. They got their room on the back of his good work.
To think he got slammed as having a poor series on the VT last night by Damo(think thats his name) Thats taking club biad way too far.

To be fair jammer has looked very tired in the four nations but was back to his best last night.
I just hope we can keep tony p, fozz, maurie and bryn fit so we can spell jammer more or he's going to burn out pretty soon.
IMO the best British prop and one of best props in the world.

| He's matured this year Graham. He was outstanding last night and it's a shame about the pass he threw for the Aussies first try because that apart he led the front row last night. He is without doubt England's premier prop now overtaking Morley and Peacock.

| Graham was my England m.o.m. last night.
I haven't looked on the Leeds board yet but I'll take a guess that they'll be blaming the two halfbacks for the defeat.

Yes and no. They are coming in for some stick, mainly because the Weasle wasn't in there.

The is no way the blame should be put on our young halfbacks but IMO they shouldn't have played as our halfback pairing.
All our plays was from sinfield at dummy half which makes it easier to defend against.
The Aussies halfbacks have played many games in nrl and at international level but ours hadn't played enough at super league level.
It will do our young halfbacks the world of good playing together against the best teams in the world.
I'm sure they will form a top class halfback pairing for next 10 years which is great for English rugby league.

| It will be a lot better when both players can actually play as half backs and not with one on either side. May as well just call them centres if their just going to do that. Plus on top of that Tomkins has defended on the right side all year whilst Eastmond ended the season at Saints on the left, so why you'd have them defend on the opposite side is baffling, simply crap coaching from Smith in both cases.
On topic of Jammer, yes he was good but its certain he'll be burnt out like Fielden was at this rate. Will Burgess be the same and look as knackered as Graham has looked in a few years time? Highly unlikely, the Aussies will spell him like he should be.

I think his passing is something that he needs to look at. He seems to have developed his game where he likes to be abit of a ball player and thats fair enough because it does cause opposition sides alot of problems at times but he needs to be abit more selective about it.
There must have been 4 or 5 occasions throughout the tournament where his passes went to ground or were intercepted.
As for him being burnt out i agree that he needs a rest. It would probably be in Saints best interests to let the lad have a real extended break now and bring him back in maybe just for a couple of weeks before the season. He seems the sort of lad who'll look after himself anyway.

G1 made the point if mcguire had played like tomkins did there would be a 23 page thread on how crap he is?
they are young lads they will learn or get used as the scapegoat and dropped after the honeymoon period has passed.

Apologies for being a bit pedantic, but I don't remember the Aussies scoring from it. Thurston got away & passed to Inglis, but i'm sure they didn't score from that set.
Anyway, it doesn't matter.
Graham was excellent, but i agree with whats bein said, he's heading for burn out.

They scored from the last play of the set with Morris going in at the corner.

Danny McGuire is 6 years older than Sam Tomkins, yet i'd rather have Tomkins in there at International level, because McGuire offers absolutely nothing.

| Tomkins had a quiet game which is abit different to McGuires dreadful game against the Aussies which included numerous missed tackle, a couple of handling errors and a couple of passes that went to the Aussie defensive line instead of our attacking line.
Whenever Tomkins has had quiet games for Wigan or England he's still been reasonably solid. I've yet to see him have a nightmare like McGuire had against the Australians.

Are you seriously still defending McGuire as an international halfback after his "performance" at Wigan?
Tomkins is [ialready[/i better than him, and has the potential to improve vastly in the coming years. And I can't stand the little bugger.

I thinks theres abit of an agenda there against McGuire if i'm honest and that probably stems from Leeds being such a successful team recently. He's preformed in bursts here and there for England and GB but then again who's been a totally consistant player especially in the backline for the past 10 years? The nearest i can probably think of to that is Keith Senior who's always done well at the international level.
Did McGuires preformence against the Aussies warrent a 23 page thread= probably not.
Did it warrent him being dropped= without question.
As for Tomkins he's only young and will have better games then Saturday night but he did ok. Without making excuses i'd have liked to have seen what he could have done with abit more and a bit better quality ball. Some of the passes he recieved he had to collect off his bootlaces or had to turn back to collect them.
