What would you do in Potter's shoes?

Play him if fit and have Eastmond on the bench, although i don't think he'll play.

Nobody in SL can drag a team around the park as well as him when on form!

And there are very few, if any, big game players.

But is Long on form? He certainly wasn't before his injury. What's to say he is now? And is it wise to play someone straight back from injury in a knock out comp? He'll likely be rusty [iand[/i not on form!

Besides, I don't think for one minute he's fit. Not after breaking his jaw. It's just hopeful speculation IMO.

I don't think Eastmond will hack it in the semi (I don't think he's ready yet) without Pryce stepping up but there's no reason for me to believe that Pryce won't step up. So I suppose I'd go with playing Eastmond and if we get through to the final then Long can have his day at Wembley. He should be fit by then, and hopefully on form!

As for putting Long on the bench (or Eastmond), that's a waste of a bench spot. Hudds are a huge pack. We need pack men on the bench, even if we have to drag them screaming from the reserves!

Whatever Potter decides, I think it's going to be an uphill battle for us to beat Hudds with their size, their defence, our lack of attacking guile and our depleted squad.

play kyle, longy cant be anywhere near match fit. My personal thoughts, he's nowhere near ready unless he's wolverine, these rumours are just that to make hudds second guess our selection

Eastmond has to play.

The lad will be buzzing after Friday, and Potter must utilise that. Added to the fact that Longy has been nowhere near form for a good while, I can't see beyond Eastmond.

Long on the bench at best. Yes, it would be a gamble given the pack we're up against, but also what a psychological boost it could be for Saints - Long on when KC has his bench time.

Can he play prop?

If he's fit he plays simple as. There is no need to bring him back early however. Dropping Eastmond would leave us without a kicker too.

Play Eastmond for the semi final and then play Long against Hull KR

Kyle is more likely to get the goals than Longy, and we need all the points we can get in a semi final.

Long at 7, Eastmond off the bench a) to cover injuries to Long - or in the threequarters, b) to play the 'Roby' role injecting some pace around the ruck when the game needs it.

Leave him out if he's not 100% and on the bench if he is.
Eastmond is the man now and has done nothing to warrant being dropped!

In fairness though Long was one of our better performers on the night, which doesn't say much i guess when hardly anyone performed particularly well.

It probably depends on Roby's fitness as well. If he is still out it may be worth a gamble of Long starting on the bench and coming on for Keiron with Eastmond shifting to 9 for a while.

Agreed - it's a fallacy that Long coming back cost us in that game. He set up the first try with an excellent break but was let down by his forwards.

And to be fair, Leeds were red hot.
