We NEED another prop!

If Mick Potter is insistant on playing TP at 13 we need a big angry 60 minute prop to work along side Jammer. Maurie imo isn't good enough, granted he's had a few good weeks but he isn't progressing enough.
Cloughy is doing a great job but isn't a prop, i fear he'll burn out before the season is done, JC isn't close to fitness.

We're going to come up short again if we're not careful!

Added to that Maurie has allegedly broken his arm!!

I've banging on about putting tony p prop for months.

He is big and makes big yards and also it gives graham help.

I completely agree, but is there anyone available? I'd definitely be looking for next season, but I can't see us bringing anyone in short term. We're short of big men now Maurie's gone.

Good props are in short supply over here as well as in OZ

When is the deadline for signing this season? They don't necessary have to be a world beater, just someone who can come in and do a job for the rest of the season with the option of them playing well getting another 12 months. I'm sure Mike Rush being the talent spotting supremo he is will have had his eye open for some time now....

I can't imagine there's anyone available that's good enough with that status i.e. expiring contract. Any prop who is good enough and availalbe will probably require a contract that goes beyond the end of this season. In addition there's the salary cap. We'll probably have to play a youngster.

I agree. We won't get top class prop but someone to take work load of graham.

We've already signed one player for this season and one for next, so we cannot sign anyone else.

And the talk of Maurie not being good enough is absolutely ridiculous. He's an impact prop and does it very well, he's had a very good season this year, but people don't notice because there have been fewer Fat-Feka-esque comedy barnstorming runs.

There are a few good props in the Championship and in France. We should look there as a remedy until the end of the season.

How big is he? I can't remember seeing him play.

Even if we could guarantee the fitness of Jammer, Puletua and Clough, it'll be nearly impossible to win the GF without Maurie. With our built-for-agility back row we just don't have the heavy traction to shift the Leeds pack around.

Emmitt is akin to Bryn. He is young, and with development, will be a good prop.

Shame Wire snapped Cooper up, he is a superb player.

i like maurie..but the trouble is he seems to play in fits and starts one week he's ripping em apart...the next week he's doing nothing but dropping the ball.

He does seem to have been more consistent this season and looked in much better form. I don't think you can pick him out for dropping the ball this season since almost all Saints players have been doing a fair bit of that.

Roby in particular has developed a severe case of the dropsies.

He's Cullens nephew, was always going to sign for us when his uncle was coach.
I think Puletua (sp?) is fantastic everytime i've seen him at 13 but he could definately do you a job at prop. It would probably be easier to fill a backrow slot than a prop, not seen many i like as of late.

He plays the same type of game (ie like a prop) no matter where he is named in the line-up. He is more often than not spelled like a prop as it is.

Maurie will be a big loss if it's long term, he will be a key player in the big games coming up and it is imperative that we have a fully-fit front row for the CC and playoffs.

Losing Maurie would seriously hurt our GF chances, but it's less of a hinderance to our CC hopes.

We're smack in the middle of summer, when pitches are at their best. If ever there's a time when you can get away with being light in the front row, this is it.
