indeed - The thing is I doubt even the most hardy Saints fan will turn up expecting a win. Saying that I remember well turning up to Derby's when we were real underdogs but always having hope if not for a win then at least a good show and some entertaining Rugby (from both sides tbf). I suspect we'll lose and lose badly and the game it's self will be a boring affair as so many modern games are.

Wigan are not playing that well at the moment and have injuries but the ape has got culture over there at the moment where they could play anyone and you know for certain they would run through brick walls for the team and dont let there heads go down , we have too many players who just dont put that kind of effort in.

AND all those guys run twice as hard when they're playing Saints.

Wigan are a very average side wrapped in a package of togetherness and aggression. If Saints get battered by that Wigan side then Brown has to go.

Saints just need to put some effort in for once. The girls like Laffranchi and LMS need to bleed for once.

I agree, they are for the most part solid players with a smattering of class , i.e O'Loughlin and Tomkins but boy do they put the effort in. We have too many pansies to compete with them I'm afraid and I cant see anything but a loss.

Half the U19's will be unavailable because of the fight after the final whistle in the Bradford game last weekend.

How was it trolling when it's on topic discussing next weeks game, and I don't know how it got deleted.

Saints are a fabulous side chock full of grit and guts, skill and a real belief in the pride of the red V. If Wigan get battered by Saints Wane should be carried shoulder high through Wigan town centre, and offered a ten year extension on his contract.

You've had your issues but Wigan's minds might be drifting towards the cup a little and our form hasn't been great.

The usual with Wigan. As with the first team, against who Francis Cummins complained to the RFL, Wigan's players spent the game trying to snap knee joints with drives at standing players' knees. The 'technique' is called 'snapping the pole' at Wigan.

Bradford got so sick of the referee doing nothing about it that they gave one back at the end, which unleashed the frustration that had been building. Unsurprisingly it was Wigan with the superior aggression and they ended up with half their side up before the disciplinary commitee.

This tackling technique HAS to be outlawed soon. It injures far more players than shoulder charges ever did. It is really disappointing that Wigan are doing it at Under 19 level, serious risk of careers being over before they've really started.

Brown is clearly using this season as an oppotunity to experiment with every single variable imaginable and has failed to instill any sort of passion or desire into our current squad, who must only be looking at next season as the start [iproper[/i. We were marginally better when we had robes back to Marshall the pack, but now we're goosed and will limp home, hoping to scrounge 8th place.

That may or may not be the case.
However, Bradford fans acknowledge that Cummins was trying to deflect from his team's defeat after being in front 18-4 with under 20 mins to go.

Never understood the "standing leg" theory. If a player is carrying the ball and drives into the tackle taking two players with him why should he not be expected to be tackled around the legs to bring him to the floor?
A player can't be running and have a "standing" leg at the same time.
Standing means being stationary, obviously, so if the practice is that dangerous as many say surely it has to be re-named or something? Maybe the "supporting leg". That makes more sense to me and perhaps explains it better for people like me who began to think they were talking in contradictions.

I'd like the rule to be changed so that if a player is being held on his upper body, the defending team can only grab or hold his legs, i.e they cannot drive into the legs. I'm sure if you asked Wane why they do it, he'd say it's to slow the tackle down and buy his side several more seconds, as it forces the ball carrier to submit and fall over. But imagine a 15 stone player, held by two 18 stone props on his upper body, his legs slowing to a stop beneath him. He then has another 15 stone player take one of his knees away with a driving tackle (All completely legal in the game and as admitted by Wayne Bennett it is being coached) you have then got the combined weight of all those players suddenly coming down on the ball carrier's knee joint. I bet it's responsible for a massive number of the leg injuries suffered by SL and NRL players.

The problems occur when players drive into the standing leg. Flanagan's injury is a prime example of why it should be taken more seriously. It is a bigger problem than the shoulder charge ever was IMO.

Defender's should pin the legs together, rather than drive into them. It's poor technique and it should be outlawed.

You are OVERWHELMING favourites. You really should be putting 30+ points on us the way that we have played all season.

You will smash our forwards, as per, and we will have no answer defensively, again.

It depends on how many Wane rests for the semi.
