| Could not get to the game tonight, but it seems Sky have laid the cards on the table.
Everything to devalue us tonight and Eddie firing the first salvo for next week, saying it will be a negative Grand Final because of us.
It was just anything tonight to play down anything we did, when Catalan score of a forward, it's fine, when we do, it's a tragedy.
But at least they showed the colours early.
The propaganda campaign underway and Wire and Wigan did not even have to ask for it.

| The incompetence of the ref was matched only by the ludicrous unprofessional bias that permeated the entire broadcast tonight.

| I thought Stevo launching in to get Sia banned for the Grand Final was one of the clearest shows of bias I've seen for some time.
Even the awfulness that is cummings had to be the bearer of temperance on him at that point.

| Tbf they are always rooting for the underdog. It's generally what they do to try and force some excitement in a dull game.
We just won the game tonight. Nothing fancy.

| Silverwood was superb for us tonight. We need him for the final. Eamon has to make that his main task for the week.
It was a farce of a semi final to be honest. The ref made several unbelievable errors and we benefitted from most. We were always going to win tonight barring a really poor showing as Catalans were out on their feet.
But Stevo is right, we HAVE to be negative in the final. We HAVE to defend well and we HAVE to grind it out. And that's just to stay within 30. If we go to the Grand Final and try to outplay either Wire or Wigan (Probably Wire, I think they'll destroy Wigan tomorrow) we would lose by 30+ and could easily really embarass ourselves.
I hope Brown has the negative tactics drilled into them. Hold down, niggle, defend like their lives depend on it, kick well and chase like demons from hell. It's our only chance.

| There were times where I was as annoyed with some of the stupid stuff we did. But for example they said that Catalan were denied a first try, forgetting that the ref had blown his whistle long before the ball left the Catalans player and so all the Saints players stopped chasing and following the ball.
Whether a right or wrong call, it is wrong to assume that the Catalan fullback would have been so easy to get to the ball and score.
Then when they score of a forward, they say it even's it up.
People buy into this because there was no one on the team countering the point about the first attempt.
If you push enough lines out with no one to argue a counter point, then it's simply one way traffic.

Saints were crap and whilst the game was still in the balance crucial incorrect calls gave saints the gamebreaking points. I don't think they were bias so stop beefing. Poor hard done by saints.

Who is beefing.
Did they not say Sia should not be playing next week.
Did they not say they hoped it would not be a negative game next week, oh but because of either Wigan or Wire it will not be.
Basically they did not want us there, it was pretty clear. Same way Murdock always wants to be backing a winner. It's common for news international to wait and see who will be the likey winners and then back them as though they had called it all along.
But feel free to keep buying their mantra

Why do you think they thought it might be a negative game next week because of saints?
When saints line up next week they will be the poorest team to line up at a grand final so far. The decline in quality is alarming and depressing. That might come off as a dig at saints but there's other teams that come out worse, if saints are bad and in the rgand final, what does that make leeds? We finished 6th and didn't even get past a poor catalans team. This entire playoff series has been shocking.

I think you have been "sucked in" similar to others by the SKY commentary, Silverwood just put in a below standard display grapple tackles, messing around at the play the ball, spear tackles, headshots, shoulder charges, forward passes etc etc. the lot.
It will probably be the same tomorrow with Bentham as he will not be much better, can't say who the SKY commentators will favour probably Wire because they have'nt won a GF yet.

| For me Sky were certainly bigging up Catalan and showing something less than a balanced and impartial approach! Silverwood was dodgy at times but our victory was not down to him.
Other teams fans should dry their eyes, we're in the Grand Final because we deserve to be. You can only beat what's put in front of you. We have, others haven't.
It's poor form to demean the comp and its standards just because your team weren't good enough to progress this far. It is what it is. For me it's a great achievement for Saints to get there and I will be coming down to Old Trafford to cheer the boys on.
No fear of defeat, it's a successful campaign irrespective of the result in my view. That said I believe we CAN win.

We weren't when Catalans got their share vs Leeds, and we've had a few bad ones ourselves recently, so we should go into the final on karmically even ref wise

I was thinking. Paul McGinley recently got Alex Ferguson to address the Ryder Cup Team in an attempt to motivate with positivity. Maybe Nathan Brown should draft you in this week to promote the exact bloody opposite.
I can't believe you have been allowed on here for another entire season. Drivel.

| I thought the sky team was an absolute disgrace tonight and i hope for the sports sake that Eamonn reports them after that display. Catalans score off a forward pass met with comments such 'well they deserve it' 'im glad' etc... Then the constant holding down in the tackle with a number of crucial ones stopping us having a chance of scoring a try (Manu being dragged around on the floor 4th tackle on the goal line) met once again with comments such as 'it should of been a penalty to saints but Catalans deserve a bit of luck because they're tired etc.. Elima punching young Richards in the scrum, yet according to the sky team it was Elima being held back which allowed Saints to score.
Then to top it off Stevo crying about Soliola getting a ban and comparing it to other incidents that was completly DIFFERENT! No contact was made to the head. Dam right disgrace
I know we wont but i would LOVE IT if we won next week, LOVE IT!

| Considering that Saints lived on Sky Sports between about 2000 and 2006, and that Eddie & Stevo were permanently lodged up Millward & or Cunningham's backside, I think these whines are a bit rich
I'm impressed that Saints have made the GF, but I think you've done it "under the radar" so to speak, certainly in comparison to the aforementioned seasons, as most talk has been about Wigan or Leeds, and possibly us.
One thing is certain, if it's a Wire v Saints GF and we win, all those hammering, all those Long-induced last-second heartbreaks will suddenly seem worth it.

Some Saints fans weren't around in those days so we really can't say! But while I know Sky like a 'story' and, after Saints' dominance of the early days of Superleague we are not any kind of 'story', some of the comments they made on the bit of the match I managed to watch back last night before having to sleep in readiness for work today left me wondering how much the Sky team undermine the sport these days to the outside world. They are the most amateurish crew imaginable.
