Now the fixtures have been released and the upcoming season has a bit more substance to it, which of our current new signings are you looking forward to watching in the red vee the most?

For me its Walmsley. Whilst the thought of watching Manu tear defence's apart is salivating to say the least, I'm most excited about how Walmsley steps up. He certainly has the potential to be a devastating impact prop at this level and I'm looking forward to that hopefully coming to fruition.

Got to be Manu, if he can stay healthy he will bring offloads, do you remember what they look like????

Although we will need to make sure all the players are up to speed there was a couple of chances last year for an offload, but no one was making themselves available to the player. Roby will need to be on high alert for 2nd phase play.

Offloads...... errr nope.

To be fair, all 3 could be equally exciting, although Walmsley and Manu are the big names for me. Turner could be but I think we have more unanswered questions over turner, were as Manu comes with a big rep and Walmsley has very little to loose.

He could be storming he could be so so.

Indeed that's the summary I would give all three too.

Manu - We know what he can do and just how good he can be.

Turner - Has shown flashes of brilliance but also has known frailties within his game, hes contribution will no doubt depend on NB's ability to bring the best out of him

Walmsley - Largely unknown but we do know how he plays and what he's capable of. The question over him is can he step up a la Chris Hill. If he does he could be a sensational signing on a very low chunk of the salary cap.

Turner will cause us excitement. It may not be pleasurable excitement. Maybe that sort of excitement you got when someone ran at #JF22, or put a bomb up for him, or told him he had a hair out of place.

Walmsley for me - he's a young English lad who seems to have bags of potential and really caused a stir at the level he played at last year - can he step up nobody knows but the prospect is exciting!

Judging by his tweets we'll either have to find Walmsley a house in St Helens or another club. He's already moaning about the travelling and it's only his second week.

Shouldn't he be excited about his chance at 'The Big Time' - I'm a little dissapointed!

Willie Manu - I genuinely believe he's the best signing we've made in about 5 years.

That's just today. There have probably been two a day, I remember one about the minging traffic on the M62 and him being starving and another about the Stone Roses being the only thing keeping him sane on his 90 minute journeys.

Fair enough, I'm not particularly a twitter user so haven't seen those tweets.

I'm most excited about Manu, I've been a fan of him from the first time I saw him when he was at cas.

I'm also interested to see Walmsley gets on, I like to see a guy from the lower league get a shot at super league. I don't think we sign enough or even ool for players from the lower leagues.

I'm not surprised. It can't be fun travelling over the m62 on your own everyday.

According to twitter, I think he is gonna be travelling to oldham and getting on the 'oldham bus' and then travelling with Yates and Greenwood.

I don't expect anything much from Walmersley for some time. It would be unfair to liken him to Chris Hill as there is quite an age gap. Hill was a mature player when joining super league; whereas Walmersley is a novice in comparison. I have great expectations from Manu and if Perry can produce anything like his Aussie form (we live in hope) then the forwards should be more than capable of bossing the middle.
Turner is a bigish lad with a good turn of speed and if Brown can iron out his faults he will be an exiting prospect.

Looking forward to seeing them all play.

To choose one though, it would have to be Manu. Devastating at hull and will give us lots of go forward and offloads.

I want to see Turner play to see if his defence can be improved. If so we will have a very good Centre.

Walmsley will need this season to settle in, so I don't expect much game time other than against the lower teams.

Exactly the point I was going to make.

Let's not put too much pressure on the lad...obvious comparisons with Hill, but different ages and different levels of experience. He's only just gone full time.

If others are of the same viewpoint as me, I'm also not expecting to see him making England in his first season. I'm just looking forward to see his progression over his contractual period to see how he develops.

It would be stupid for anyone to expect him to make the England squad this coming season. He will probably play a dozen or so games, from the bench, against lower opposition. He will only play against top opposition due to injuries. It has to be understood that the gulf between Championship and Super league is vast and it will take at least a season to settle and get up to pace. He has also stepped up from part time so it will take time to build up fitness levels. We may start to see signs towards the back end of the season.

If he gets game time and starts playing very well then great, but this should not be expected this season. Talk of England is at best premature.

I think you completely misunderstood my reference of England, it was intended as an over emphasis. Either that or I misunderstood yours.
