| Hi guys, just wondering if you think Morgan would be an ideal replacement in the long run. Was Hull KR`s most successful head coach for 30 years and although like most coaches in sport became stale, he wa a very shrude coach and had us playing some good rugby league. I think he would be ideal for you.
I hope KC has a good crack though, and think the playes will lift another 20% with him in charge.

| When we announced Pottrer an then Simmons as our new coach it didn't excite me.If we announce Justin Morgan as our new coach I would feel the same.

| Wouldn't be my first choice tbh . If we're going for an Aussie I'd prefer one with more recent NRL experience

| Ain't going to happen. JM failed to kick on at HKR and never cahllenged for any sort of honours. Did well in lifting them out of the Championship but done little else that would make me think he is the right appointment for a top club like Saints.

| I would be initially dissapointed, i think we should be looking at someone with a better pedegree, but I'd convince myself to be hopeful. He did some good work with HKR before things became stale (which happens). He's young, so I'd hope he had a lot of potential to grow as a coach.
My main concern would be its a bit of a wishy washy appointment. He's not a Michael Maguire - dynamic up and coming coach looking for his first senior appointment to explode onto the scene, but nor is he a Bennet/Bellemy/Sheens (which lets face it, are proably out of any SL clubs league).

| He seems the perfect fit to me:
Based on his ability to wear sunglasses and look cool, I'd say we're headed for another period of domination.

Brian Noble has a good Pedigree but you would'nt want him would you?
Daniel Anderson never had any Pedigree neither did Millward so i don't believe anyone has pedigree until they are given a chance?
We took chances on Potter and Royce and it never came off, Wigan got lucky with Maguire

Daniel Anderson certainly had Pedigree, he is arguably the most experienced and successful NRL coach to have come into the UK in recent years.
Prior to coaching Saints he had been coach of the NZ warriors. Taking them to the playoffs in 2001 and 2003 and getting them to the grand final in 2002. In that Year he was also named as the NRL COACH OF THE YEAR. He was also coach of the NZ international team.
After leaving Saints he went back to Australia and took Paramatta to a grand final

| Trent Robinson, Mal Meninga, Nathan Brown, Daniel Anderson. Would be very happy with any of them. Anyone like Noble, Powell, Morgan etc would be a step back or level to what we are now.

| No ta. As I've said on another thread his sides are about as dull as you can get offload wise. Morgan should look to try and get an assistant's job in the NRL. I think that's the next move for him.

| I think Morgan worked miracles with what he had at KR, as much as it pains me to say it. With a team like saints I believe he would excel so I hope you dont sign him up. No offence.

I'm not really up on the Championship, but they seem like guys who about their business well and command respect. They also both have SL experience and did a decent job at Leeds and Salford respectively.

both would be good choices. Powell was good but not great at leeds but much more experienced improved since. same as Harrison.

I wouldn't mind Karl Harrison, seemed to be doing wonders at Salford with a poor team then mysteriously got the boot. Could be brought in for the rest of the season to see us through and if he does well go from there.

Its been stated he's quite happy coaching where he is and has outside business intrests, which make the fickle world of SL coaching slightly unappealing, but he wouldn't turn down a job at Langtree Park, would he?
He managed to get Salford up to 4th, if I recall correctly. Not too shabby.

Being hungry is not enough at this level. You need to be able to demonstrate technical and tactical competency. We are too big a club to be risking it all on an unproven but hungry coach just because they are British. Our recruitment process should be the best person for the job irrespective of their nationality, ethnicity, age and gender.

Agreed - good choice.
It seemed he lost the power struggle with that teflon coated simms after he almost managed to polish a turd in the Salford team.
It would also depend on whether sir mac would be happy with someone other than a yes man as karl is far from subtle in that department of sticking to the script.
