what a fantastic advert for rugby league and thought you had almost done it until Shentons injury, then leeds attacked his wing with success.

Is there any new on Shenny? as a cas fan I was sad to see him leave but so proud to see him playing in the grand final last night just sad it ended as it did

He has a dislocated elbow and according to Saints on Twitter, will probably need an operation.

Same injury KC had , takes ages to recover from and if it gets complicated (which it can )it can be the end of your career.

Sad news for him and if he's not fit for next season he will be a massive loss

Very bad injury. Aside from a snapped Achilles it's probably the worst injury a rugby player can suffer. Many players never recover fully. Think what happened to Cunningham's fend when he did his elbow.

It will depend on what ligament and other soft tissue damage has been done. He could be very lucky.

My best mate dislocated his elbow last year and wasn't out to long. His went back in straight away and didn't require a op.

Let's hope shenny is lucky.

How long was Cunningham out for when he had the injury?

You could tell he was in agony when it happened and it looked like he landed on the injured elbow as well. Lets hope for a speedy recovery.

Dislocations are always bad and lot more painful than breaks. I've had few breaks but I've also dislocated my jaw shoulder and worst of all my thumb. I dislocate my thumb few times a year as it needs pinnning and I'll takeca broken bone over a dislocation anyvday.

The was thing with dislocation is having it put back in, pure pain!

Dislocated my little finger once playing 5 a side football , I put it back myself but it was a bugger and kept locking so I ended up having to have the ligaments sorted out.

It looked a really bad one, if it's anything like Cunningham's injury we won't see him for 6 months.

I've done a finger as well as jaw, shoulder and thumb. The thumb iscs killer getting it back in. The jaw was a painful one as well.

Other than my thumb I've just had them popped back in and carried on. My thumb needs a op but I don't like needles so I'll leave it.

Just hope shenny has it popped in and all is well.

They ll look bad when they happen you should see my thumb when it comes out.

Not sure how long KC was out for but at a recent forum he did talk about the injury and he was warned by the surgeon it could finish him. As was mentioned it certainly affected his game too even when he came back.

I saw KC at the specialist I see recently , a chap called Leonard Funk - top surgeon for shoulders and elbows so I guess it's still not fully right.

I can recommend a great hand surgeon ,

my finger is miles better after he fixed it.

Shenton was having a brilliant game. He looked too quiet in early games for me, but of late, has really worked hard, playing well. My Man of the Match yesterday. Hope he's soon recovered and it's not a complicated dislocation.

Unless he can do the op without using a needle and with no pain then I'm not interested

Mr Murali was the chap - he also sorted my other finger I managed to shatter from just below my finger tip to inside my knuckle ... sometimes I wonder why I play(ed) Rugby

I'd rather have it popped back in few times a year rather than a needle.

When I dislocated my finger it got wrapped in another players shirt i was grabbing him around the collar. So hes trying to run off with my dislocated finger wrapped in his shirt. I showed one of our players (like you do when your in pure shock) and he threw his guts up

Disgusting from the ref to play on with a player down in the middle of the field with what was obviously a very serious injury. To make it even more farcical when we got the ball back he waited for him to leave the field before he'd play on.

I've never seen that before in league. Serious injuries have always stopped the game.

Correct, he should have stopped the game.

If shenton is out for the start of next year then we will start next season with no proper centres.

Meli will be number 4 next season, this years number 4 will be in the second row but still a good centre, and the player who was tipped to be our centre this year will finally get over his injury jinx. We'll be ok

aint saddened the same saddened who said he hoped richards would fall down the wembley steps and break every bone in his body after collecting his losers medal???????? im not ashamed to admit i was in tears when the final hooter blew last night, tears of laughter, i mean come on 5yrs in a row its brilliant, couldnt happen to a better team hahahaha laters losers! Spot on , it was shocking from Bentham and not in the spirit of our game and Pete is correct without shenton we will be short centre wise ..Makinson anyone?
