Played very well I thought. Scored two tries and was very good at fullback.

He always play well when given the chance. He's not a bad player at all.

His 2 tries were in stark contrast to his overall performance which ,particularly in the seond half ,was appalling.Throwing wild passes ,kicking on last tackle when we had overlaps out wide

That was incredibly harsh I feel. He fielded the ball very well and attacked well. Sure he didn't do everything perfect but it was his first for a good while.

I agree, he did ok. Nothing special but it's his first game at super league level for a while.

Few stupid passes and drop balls but stepping up to super league when he's been playing at lower league level is tough.

Whoa!! Way, WAY too harsh! The lad had been playing centre at Leigh until a week ago, he gets half a day's training at best and has to play fullback for Saints today. He took his two tries well and defended as well as he could given his unfamiliarity with the role. He panicked a couple of times but I would expect that from someone thrown in the deep end, especially a young guy who has been playing with another team this season.

I thought he did well and he gave it everything he had.

Took his tries well, made the kind of mistakes a young player will always make.

Probably made more yardage in his kick returns today than Wellens has done all season so far.

I thought Armstrong, on balance, did ok today.

Shame you didn't get a season ticket. Works out at £18 per month for the East Stand. Recently I've effectively been paying £6 per game! A steal.

Anyway, I think Tom Armstrong will do just fine with some time spent training with the team. I don't know who on earth Royce is going to slot in at fullback for our trip to Hull but I thought Armstrong put in a great stint there given it's not his usual position and he was called on at short notice. Good on him. I hope he gets a chance to have some serious game time with Saints now.

I have a feeling it may be Foster at full back with Armstrong slotting in on the wing, that is if Makinson doesn't recover from his dead leg.

Maybe. I'm hoping Makinson recovers from his deadleg. He's the most likely to recover from the three who went down today anyway. Scott Moore described his ankle injury: 'felt like it was in a million pieces', which sounds very bad indeed! We could do with Jamie resting his legs between efforts as he will be our only goal kicker next Monday, won't he?

I have to agree with this to an extent. His first try was a great piece of play the second he did well to play to the whistle. Caught everything and returned the ball well.

On the other hand he did some very strange things. His out the back pass that went straight into touch was bizzare. Given that he has had limited chances in the first team I can understand if the reason for this was he was trying to hard.

I have always thought he would make a good full back. If Royce can coach the crazy plays out of him then hopefully he can get a good run in the team.

Yeah from what I've been told we won't be seeing Jonny or Scott back next week or any time soon judging off first impressions. Scans will confirm or hopefully tell us something different later this week.



Yep, I think you're right on that one, depending on whether Royce sees fit to bring Kyle back into the squad should he get over his chest infection.

The out the back pass was a cracking piece of skill that would have resulted in a try had it gone to Foster rather than the touchline. Would you rather he wasn't trying that kind of thing in the first place? I think that's a dangerous precedent to set. Personally I'll never bag a player for trying something close to the opposition line.

The offer to do that was open to everyone who wanted a season ticket at the end of last season. I've just got a one year one. I'm a newbie season ticket holder.

I can't see Kyle being over his chest infection by next Monday as they can drag on for weeks. But, you never know! One day, we may have players returning en masse instead of limping off en masse!

Thats way over the top!!! The guy hasnt played with us all season, he's scored 2 tries and generally played very well. Some people just arent satisfied.
