Well at this point in time they are no better than he is. I think Ade is more powerful with his runs. He just lacks confidence at times. Loads of fans getting on his back won't help.

What Gardner lacks Is pace, he'd be slow for a second rower.

I think the club did Gardner a disservice by keeping him as a winger. He should have been bulked up early in his career and played at centre.

He came up with a play at headingly a few years back which summed him up well.
We were winning a close game and the clock was almost up. The rain was lashing down.
We tackled a leeds player near the touchline, they foolishly tried an impossible offload and the pass went to ground. With the reaction of a cat, Ade raced for the ball, desperate to regain possesion to help secure the game by diving on the ball. Only problem was, because of the wet conditions, he dived on the ball and slid over the touchline - scrum to Leeds.



He's not perfect, but he does have his strengths and he does put a lot in. Although I may wish for more in a player, I'll not slag him off.

Ade always gives 100% he's just way too slow

Next season is Gardner's last chance. He is OOC at the end of next year and unless he has a good season he won't get a new deal with the emergence of Foster, who has the added advantage of kicking goals. There's some pressure on Gardner, but he has a fresh slate with the new coach. Some players play well under certain coaches and maybe this will be the case with Gardner? He also has a new Centre partner in Shenton, who knows if that will work for or against him.

Unless he can find an extra ten yards of pace I don't think It matters.

I dunno. Having Shenton is a big step up over Gidley given how quiet he was after signing his final contract.

Will Gardner not be on the left wing with Meli as his centre anyway?
