Can you imagine the tsunami of self righteousness that would have been heading our way if that had been the other way round?

They musn't have enough overage players to play in the 18's.Nearly every time i've gone to watch Wigan 18's & 20's it seems packed with overage players.

Pathetic.

Saints where playing a number of 16 year olds from our u16 side this year (Greg Wilde and Danny Yates) why couldent Wigan do the same ?

Once again. Pathetic!!

Wigan have got some good u16 players, the likes of Dom Manfreddi and Chris Taylor. I'm sure they'd do fine at academy level.

Our u16's batterd them this year.

Greg Wilde, Danny yates, Brad Ashurst and Dominic Speakman are all quality.

I know, I've played against most of them.

If I'm not mistaken, Manfreddi might still be injured. He didn't play for a lot of the U16's season and didn't play in any scholarship games.



Out of curiosity, who do you play for?

I did play for Shevington Sharks, put I packed it in at the end of this season. I played against a lot of them for school too more recently as Shevi were in Division 2.

Ironically, this is the longest Rogues has ever gone without posting on the Saints board.

Had a great day with my better half.
Left at 10:30 a.m. and spent a few hours in York where we had lunch. Then onto Beverley, lovely place.

Arrived in Hull at around 6 p.m. and had a beer.
Great display from our mob (how did Saints do there?) I always thought that Sam Tomkins may make a decent player.
Arrived back at midnight and just watched the Sky + with a couple of whiskeys.

On the U18 game I'm not sure why Wigan couldn't raise a team but here's an educated guess. Ten of them played in the U20 on Wednesday, and I think there is a rule whereby they can't play twice within five days, so that maybe the reason.

If I remember rightly Wigan did the exact same thing to us last year. I remember a game having to be rearranged because they said they had an injury crisis. The games are normally played on a weekend so I would imagine the under 20's game they played in on Wednesday was a rearranged fixture. The good news is that Wigan lost that game on Wednesday.

Oh I forgot, the Wigan U20's also have a game today which takes precedence.

But if they all played on Wednesday and there's this 5 day rule how can they play today?

Because it suits them. They want the best of both worlds!

At Under 18 level.

But stupidly the rules allow them to play at first team and U18/U20 on the same weekend.

We won both Under 18s games last season.

Ah, I see. I presume that excuse would have been acceptable if Saints had been unable to field a team?

Poor show from Wigan if they can't field two junior teams on the same day.

It is not as though their First team is full of Under 20s

Davies, Ainscough and Marsh will probably all play tomorrow.

Logan Tomkins, Dom Crosby, John Walker and Joe Mellor are out injured, and have to be replaced by U18 players. who under the rules cannot play. Please give me your solution.
