Apparently we've signed this kid from Wire's service area and Peter Farrell reckons he is better than Scully and his lad Faz put together at the same age?!

No highly rated kids ever turn out any good so Saints shouldn't bother signing any of them and we as fans shouldn't ever show an interest.

I've wrote a few things on this lad because I know his brother very well, and I speak to him sometimes, too.

Said he's moved to Saints because he can train twice a week instead of once a week with Wire. He's a good player and a good lad, plays full back/loose, quick, strong, skillful and kicks goals. Usually starts at full back then gets shifted to loose to rip up, hits big in defence and scores quite a lot. Plays for Rylands who I think won everything they competed in this year, and won MOTM in the final.

He's a good lad, hopefully Saints can keep him on track and not let him go like all the other kids in the local area, he loves his rugby and all the coaches at Wire had big expectations of him. I'm pretty gutted to be honest, one because it's you, two because he's a mate of mine and local, and three because he's a top player. Tut.

And dont forget,the lad will have been a life long Wigoon fan as well.

is there a reason behind all this? Wire are developing the young talent, but not keeping hold of them

That's what happens when you try to chase the elusive victory over the Saints at all costs...

Well I'm only 18, so I've known quite a few lads who have been on the Warrington service area and so on, and from what they've said to me, our facilities aren't the best and neither is the training. Speaking to Dougie Charnock a few months back and he said everything used to be unorganized and the training was pretty average. However, all of this has changed since Bastian has come in and he said things have improved massively, unfortunately, on our scholarship the lads only train once a week, on the Saints scholarship they train twice a week, so he's decided it's best to move to Saints. Can't really argue with that.

With regards to Mellor and Watkins, from what I understand from Mellor and Watkins, it was purely rugby related moves, apparently what they saw at Leeds and Wigan impressed them more than Warrington, and they fancied their chances of getting played there over us.

These lads have moved a little earlier than Watkins and Mellor, though, they moved after signing a contract with Leeds/Wigan, whereas these lads are just moving scholarships I think.

I hope the club learn from this and change things up if possible, it's disappointing that we're losing our best young players to rivals because we're not giving them enough training.

Watched this lad in the national cup final at salford earlier in the year and hes all class, played everyone off the park and definately one to watch for the future.

And will also have had a trial at wigan when he was 3, but wasnt good enough.

I think that is a bit of an urban myth. The Tompkin twins are from Chorley, one set of grandparents are from Warrington though.

sam was on gmr a few weeks ago and said it himself, he and both his brothers have always supported the wolves

Just read another forum and people are raving about him. Apparantly he looks the business.

We've signed Matty Woods from Warrington aswell. Another u15 talent.

I spoke to a couple of people at the Wigan reserves game today. They reckon Charnley is a very good prospect indeed, but like all kids it will depend on how he develops.

I'm sure I read in a interview he said his family were Wiganers.

I've also heard that the Warrington youth set up isn't rated as highly as Saints is.

This lad is class, Has won everything possible at his age, League, Cups, national etc, i know 16 other lads have too but when your bagging Man of the Match awards in National Cup Finals you are something special. (Did win MOM in NWC Final too)
