I've got a Virgin TiVo box and it didn't record on there either.
When I checked the reason it says "power switched off" which it wasn't.
Like you I tried to find repeats but strangely there were none.
My conspiracy theory is it was to stop us analyzing what an utter t$$t FNP is.
