I don't accept that theory; we were told at the time that they had waited until he was fully fit - there was no hint of him being brought back too early.
It is an easy excuse to be able to say in retrospect that he was brought back too early - no-one thought that then.
The original main injury was a neck issue and although he pulled his groin pre-season this stretches belief a little that that could then develop into the current "muscle torn away from the pelvic bone" injury after 3 mins because he came back a week early.
A more realistic view was that he was simply unlucky or generally not match fit/ battle hardened enough to play.
"Leon is 99% to play on Saturday after doing his second full training session today....." said Purtill on 1st March - hardly a sign they brought him back early.
