Quote ="Judder Man"The problem is that next week is probably going to be a defensive game and you need the likes of Eastmond or Pyrce to create something special, I'm sure Mick Potter is leaving his attacking option to later in the week and if there is any chance of playing Eastmond, he will.'"
Except we don't have creative halfbacks available. Kyle is crocked. Surely that needs to be accepted and a gameplan built around what we have, not what we might have? Smith isn't a 6 in anyone's book. He's an organising 7 and so will function best IMO when organising. He's then able to spot opportunities better to kick more effectively. He'll have to be on the top of his game and a hell of a lot will be asked of the guy, but if he can summon up another brilliant performance then he will be ideal for getting over Wigan's defence, assuming all our other players are 100% alert for 100% of the time to the opportunities he may create. If he kicks across field to a winger, for instance, he'll be better kicking to Jamie Foster than whoever is on the other wing because only Jamie Foster can run!
Quote It's a Purtill/Potter call, they know the risks.................is it worth taking a risk to become Superleague Champions.'"
It's a risk both ways. If we risk Eastmond on the pitch, we risk him limping off again and our team having to reshuffle mid match yet again ... a risk we took on Friday. Had Cunningham not been so determined from the moment he stepped back on the pitch, we would have lost that match. The other risk is putting such a massive expectation on Matty Smith's shoulders when he's been playing for a bottom of the league side all season and has not appeared in a Grand Final before.
For mine it is probably better to go with what we have rather than bank it all on what we might have but probably won't, going on the last three attempts to get Kyle back on the pitch.
