But as thet both end up in a scrum with the same feed does it really matter. Certainly isn't a penalty like you thought, no wonder you moan about the ref.

My theory on Smith is that he dosn,t like fast open rugby, he can't referee this style of play. He trys to slow the game down and allows holding down, offside so he can keep things to his tempo, also he is a lazy ref he won,t officiate around the tackle, quite often he is too far away and assumes knock ons and loose balls as the defending side reefing the ball out.
Another thing he can,t control is head high tackles, he will give penalties but no severe warnings, Salfords No 17 was more or less tacking above the neck all through the match, and we all know how he handled Terry Newton with Long/Gilmour/Gardner during the Wigan match seasons back.
I,m sure Warrington have issues with him as well...............he is only reffing superleague because there are not enough decent refs in the game.
