The 'step over' PTB is exploited by all teams; and a fast PTB improves the spectacle of the game so surely a good thing?

My bugbear is forward passes. Everyone feels demeaned by them and - horror! - RU fans can scoff at our game because of them.

Yes, I know they're hard to police but I'd like to make it easier for the refs to call them.

So, how about awarding a penalty for a forward pass? Isn't that still the case for an 'intentional' forward pass? I'm sure coaches would adapt and the game would become more skillful, rather than 'pass and crash'?

Correct but there is a law which stops holding down resulting from 7 men per tackle. Thats what I was referring to as you well know laddy!

Did anyone hear Jon Wilkin on Radio Manchester last night when taking to Ben Thaler, Wilkin said that they were coached to "not" play the ball with the foot.

I reckon all superleague teams are "coached" that way.

Which goes back to my point that the four corners of coaches, players, refs and Red Hall need to do something about it.
