it looked like no one had a clue what to do out there last night, this is where we miss someone like sean long. 14 mins left, penalty near the halfway line, 6 points up and all the players looking to the bench to ask what to do!!! easy.... kick to touch, try and get a 4 pointer and if thats not successfull, kick a drop goal on the 5th tackle!! easy!! it would have meant wakey scoring twice in about 10 mins.

then our last two sets of six we go for a try instead of kicking a one pointer and clinching the game!! whos making these decisions??? potter or the players???

Definately although setting up the drop goal in the last few minutes seemed a pretty obvious option. I couldnt get why they kept taking it wide. I thought they put the game in doubt and themselves under presure uneccessarily at the death.

I fully agree, especially after the first missed penalty attempt.

Cast your mind back 12 months. We were playing Hull KR. 6 points up, with Long on the field and had a plethora of chances of dropping a goal to kill the game off. We didn't. They came down the field and levelled the score, then went on to win

IMO the captain should decide what to do. If he thinks going for the two points is right he then asks his kicker if he fancies it.

Decision making has been our major attribute for success in the past, Goulding, Martyn, Joynt, Scully and Long were excellent in reading the game and organize the team to close the game down. I think we have got to accept that we are in a period of transition and decision making will improve, we don,t have a prominant leader in the pack and an organiser in the backs.
I was hoping a Wheeler/Eastmond half back combination would work, but Mick Potter might not see it this way in the short term.
When you look at the pivotal positions of 1, 7, 9 and 13 we are no longer better than the other superleague teams.

When KC retires I would like to see Jammer become captain, leading the team in a similar manner to Chris Joynt.
