Lets look at stats ( www.superleague.co.uk/stats/player_stats):
- Walmsley: 298m at 9.93m/carry
- Chris Hill: 263m at 7.97m/carry
- Jamie Peacock: 241m at 5.36m/carry
- Kyle Amor: 235m at 7.83m/carry
- Micky Paea: 200m at 7.69m/carry.
Of course there has only been two games, (I'm not getting carried away at all) but the stats are massively in Alex's favour so far. He is making nearly 2m more per carry than any other SL prop at the minute. That's staggering for a player who has only played in SL for one full season.
I suppose you could point to the inferior opposition at the Halliwell Jones stadium, but vs Hull I thought our pack struggled (especially in the first half) but he still made 168m. Incredible.
Obviously this is something to come back to at the end of the season, but it's something to look out for as the season progresses. He's had a fantastic start and has definitely put to bed any doubts of 'second season syndrome'.

He's got everything going for him. He's big, fast, strong, tough but still thinks he struggles with his fitness.
Amor has really impressed me.

Me too. He seems to have the engine of James Graham too, which is useful. I thought he got a bit bashed in the first half, but second half he was fantastic.
Is it fair to say that our starting front row is the best in the league?

His mtrs/carry are immense. Its of course impossible to say from two games but he is on course to beat Robes record of metres in a season (5000)

He did get bashed up first half but was quality in the 2nd half.
I think our front row of Amor Roby walmsley must be up there as one of the best. We also got Mose to come back yet.

| It's funny what you 'don't see' in a game isn't it as I would never have imagined his stats were so impressive so fair play to him and he's been a great signing so far.
He just needs to cut out the sloppy play the balls and he's looking like the real deal.

| Walmsley's a beast and who know what level he can get up to. We've got a gem there and the fact we've got him to sign a longer contract is an awesome point for us.
Even with the loss of Burgess, England still have some great props. Hill has looked very good in both the games I've seen him, even though he's been on the losing side and Peacocks workrate stats from the Wire game were ridiculous for a player that people constantly assume will start to slow down at some point.

| Laffranchi is the only weakness in the pack now IMO. He has no impact, takes the ball standing still and makes hardly any meters. His number of carries, and his average meters gained are the worst by far. Hull were battering us for the 20mins he was on in the first half.
It will be good to see Mose fit and coming off the bench after 20 mins rather than Laffranchi.

Laffranchi and wello are giving us nothing from the bench. Manu needs to book his ideas up.

| I doubt Walmsley will ever be comparable to Jamie Peacock. He's a head and shoulders above those listed in terms of his influence on a game. Those pretending Wello is doing a job for us should look at Peacock as an example of a Captain.
But Walmsley can be a superb prop for us, I think he is now. As mentioned he needs to focus as much on being error free at the play the ball as he does on being captain smash.

Must you use every single thread as a tool to slate Wellens it really is very sad and very boring.
As for Walmsley - great to have him starting now , several times last year we went 16pts down early on with LaFranchi being dominated. Would just like him to get nearer to the 20 min mark instead of 10 , then bring on Sia and Masoe to wreak havoc !
