He certainly was leaving huge holes. Probably wont have much in the missed tackles stats though as he often wasnt even close to having a chance of tackling the pies. He was the single reason that Wigan remained in the game.
On the match thread. Tomkins had a horror game in the first half, and ultimately his mistakes were the reason Wigan got beaten.
Leeds however again showed the value and necessity of having pace in the three quarters. Their forwards may have beaten up the Wigan pack, but it ws the pacey backs who applied the coup de grace.
Rob Burrow was also sensational at hooker, and completely justified his inclusion in the England setup, despite the protestations from pie fans about the none appearance of the pedestrian Mclorum in the exiles matches.
What now for Wigan, their coach was trying to create an aura of invincibility about the club. Something the arrogant pie fans were eager to latch onto. Today Leeds popped that bubble. It will therefore be interesting to see how they respond come the rest of the league season and playoffs.
With the loss of four senior players at Wigan at the end of the season. I've been of the opinion that this year could be their last shot at the big time for a few years, due to the side having to go through a rebuilding process. With one trophy slipping from their grasp, the players will be under a lot of pressure to make it count in the playoffs. Fingers crossed they fall by the wayside.
