Very harsh on Maurie isn't it? He's always been 100% committed to both the club and the town. He's injured you fools, he's not like Gary Wheeler taking the money and inventing an injury every week. Maurie put himself up for selection with a broken arm not so long ago and would do so again.

He has been a very good signing for Saints and has given us tremendous service. I hope he gets a proper send off, whether he plays for us again or not.

On Faasavalu I agree. Anyone stating that he 'doesn't want to risk an injury' has never had to recover from a serious problem that required an operation. The fact is he is still injured, hence why he isn't playing.

Maurie got cleared for full contact training only last week and according to Potter after the game will be considered in a fortnight.

For me he adds grunt, and impact off the bench, Emmitt is in the Hargreaves mould, I would choose Maurie in two weeks for certain.

I wouldn't pick maurie again for saints. The lads that have filled in deserve to keep there shirts for the rest of the season.

He's been great player and never let saints down but it's a huge risk playing him and sia with both being out for most of the year.

Lets keep faith with emmitt, bryn, tony p and jammer in the front row, they have been top class over the last 6 weeks.
