University of Gloucestershire All Golds v Oxford RLFC
Referee: M Rossleigh
Touch Judges: N Woodward T Arnold
Reserve Referee: Ollie Maddock
M Com: A Barnby
Referee: Matt Rossleigh (Southern)
If you want to know which Oxford games he’s previously refereed then pretty much all you need to do is look at the fixture list. This is the third one on the trot, and it also moves him up to third on the all-time list with every chance of taking the lead before the end of the year. On his last appearance he sent off Tommy Newbould, and sin-binned Jordan Siddons and Fran Welsh. The first two will be suspended for this game. He is also the reserve referee for London v Warrington the night before our game.
I think this is a crossbow-sized blowpipe he's trying out:
Touch Judge: Nick Woodward (Warrington)
Last seen as a touch judge in our trip to Keighley at the end of the regular season. But his previous two matches were both against the All Golds.
Touch Judge: Tolver Arnold (St Helens)
Last time I saw him was a few days ago at Wembley Stadium, where he was touch judge for the schools final. Previously for Oxford he was reserve referee at a League 1 Shield game last season. His brother Denton has been touch judge for two games. Together with their father they made up the entire officiating team at a National Conference League match last season. Not sure if this photo is from that game or another family outing (Tolver's the one on the left):
Reserve Referee: Ollie Maddock (Warrington)
First known Oxford game. This is him (with the flag). I expect he is disallowing a try for Warrington after they had cheated:
Match Commissioner: Andy Barnby (South West)
First Oxford game this season, although previously he had turned up quite regularly. I think he's based in Gloucestershire so wouldn't have far to travel for this game, were it not for the fact that he's the timekeeper for London v Warrington the night before our game.
