Before those two matches in successive weeks, he had previously been touch judge for numerous Oxford games. Last week he refereed Toronto v York in Canada, and therefore attended Canada’s 150th anniversary celebrations whilst missing his own wedding anniversary…. Here he is about to take a (forward) pass and touch down under the posts.
Touch Judge: Adam Williams (Wigan)
Last Oxford game was as reserve referee in the home match against York last season. I think this is him:
Touch Judge: Lee MacDonald (Barrow)
A quick return as he was one of the touch judges for last Sunday’s game against North Wales. I imagine that with a trip back to Cumbria that day, he was not very impressed with the game finishing two hours late. This is his fourth Oxford match, one as reserve referee, but only the one last week was not against Barrow. Here’s a very recent photo:
Reserve Referee: Paul Cromer (Widnes)
Has done many Oxford games, either as touch judge or reserve referee. The last time we saw him was as touch judge in the League 1 Shield victory over South Wales last season.
Peter Gilmour (West Cumbria)
Former referee and based in Workington. Only previous time he was match commissioner for Oxford was the Challenge Cup tie at Whitehaven earlier this year (both the originally planned game and the rearranged one). He’s also doing the Warrington v Leigh match this Friday night.
