Barrow Raiders v Oxford RLFC
Referee: L Moore
Touch Judges: J Butterfield C Etchells
Reserve Referee: L MacDonald
M Com: R Connolly
Referee: Liam Moore (Wigan)
First Oxford game. Oxford's players and officials might want to ask his advice for next week because he has two refereeing trips to Toronto behind him, the last being Canada v English Lionhearts in 2016. You may have seen him last weekend as he was in charge for a Cumbrian team getting defeated at home in a Cup tie (Whitehaven v Halifax, which was live on BBC online and still available on the iPlayer).
Touch Judge: Jamie Butterfield (Warrington)
He’s been reserve referee for three Oxford games, but this is the first time as a touch judge. Last time we saw him was the League 1 Cup quarter-final exit at Keighley last year. I had hime down as being from Widnes before, but he's actually chair of the Warrington Referees Society. And he needs to concentrate on rugby league, because he has made the very poor choice to support a football club with no Plan B (and Plan A's not up to much either).
Touch Judge: Curtly Etchells (Barrow)
From Ulverston. Started refereeing in 2009. Has appeared at Wembley. Third time as a touch judge for Oxford, the last being the 2016 trip to Barrow.
Reserve Referee: Lee MacDonald (Barrow)
Second time at an Oxford game, the last one being when he was touch judge for the 2015 home game against Barrow played at Cheltenham.
M Com: Bob Connolly (Wigan)
Former referee. A regular match commissioner for Oxford, his last game being the league trip to Barrow last season.
Anyone spotting a pattern here.
