| Oasis supporting Ocean Colour Scene at the Jug Of Ale in Moseley. Only held about 150 and about half full.....a legendary gig in a venue sadly no more.
Dirtbox Disco and Goldblade with the Misfits in Leeds last night was quality.....possibly the coldest venue I have ever been in mind you with only the Derby Venue and Granby Halls Leicester coming close.

| The Best:
White Lies (Supporting Glasvegas)
The Vaccines (Supporting Arctic Monkeys)
The Worst:
The Horrors (Supporting Arctic Monkeys back in 2008 just after their first album, they were truly woeful! Would never have guessed then they'd go on to make two best selling, award winning albums)
The Slits (Were pelted with coins and bottles before The Cribs)

| Seen way to many dodgy support acts to mention but a few -
Rodrigo y Gabriela supporting Muse, WTF?
Waysted supporting anyone who toured in 1988/9
Malice supporting Slayer, again WTF?
Best -
Queensryche supporting Dio
Fastway supporting AC/DC
Joan Jett supporting Green Day
Faster Pussycat totally destroying Guns and Roses every night of a six date tour.

| I remember going to see Danzig in Bradford sometime in the early 90's, supported by Skyclad. They were given about 3 square feet of stage to play on but despite that, went down an absolute storm - about halfway through the set, a Danzig crew member came out and cut them off, presumably because the headliners were worried about how to follow them. The place was in uproar - certainly not the best support act I've ever seen, but they won a lot of crowd support purely by dint of being (relatively) local and being dumped on by the headliners.
Worst - went to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Bercy Stadium in Paris in 2006. The support act was Dizzee Rascal who was not appreciated at all by the French fans - he was booed from about song 2 onwards and only managed to pull it back by having his DJ play classic rock songs and hosting a ginormous singalong for the whole crowd.

I was at that gig, a great gig but Danzig were totally upstaged - both bands fronted by nutters

| Went to see Dirty Revolution last week, they were completely blown off stage by their support, The Talks.
If you're not into the two-tone thing, then you'll not get them, but if you are... Look them up

| Can add to the list after watching Muse at the Etihad tonight!
Thought Bastille were very good but then Dizzee Rascal was absolutely shocking. I don't know why people would pay to see him (no jokes about me paying to go and see Muse please!)

I turned up as he was finishing and wondered why he was chosen tbh. On such a huge stage in a huge arena, two guys marching up and down in front of a guy on the decks looked ridiculous. Never mind the music

Indeed - I also recall that we were all patted down on the way in to that gig, as Glenn Danzig had convinced himself that someone was planning to shoot him. Seemed bonkers at the time, although appears less so now, given what happened to Diamond Darrell.
Saw some great gigs in Bradford in that era, including Nirvana in, iirc, 1991.

'" I also saw Anthrax supporting Metallica but i saw the Manchester Apollo gig. That was when Metallica were peaking anything they have ever done since has been a decline. It was only a couple of weeks later Cliff Burton was killed, what a waste of talent.

I saw they when they released Ride the Lightning and the tour with Anthrax was Damage Inc (from Master of Puppets) a couple of years later which IMO was their peak. The "black" album was huge granted, but after that it was sadly a decline on the recording front. Still great to see live though.

| Ah, forgot the "Justice for All" tour - yes that was decent - agreed. Also "Death Magnetic" showed glimpses of a return to form on the recording front. Lets agree to forget about "Lulu".

| Best : Blackfoot supporting Scorpions about 1980
Worst : By crowd reaction I'd go for Girl fronted by Phil Lewis (L.A. Guns) playing to a KISS crowd @ New Bingley Hall, Stafford around 1980. They played a cover of Kiss' "Do You Love Me?" and people were trying to spit at them from everywhere. I've never seen so much gob! I thought they were a decent band though. Perhaps the crowd were peeved that Iron Maiden (when they were REALLY good) were the support everywhere else apart from Stafford.

I saw Blackfoot at Knebworth with Deep Purple about '84. Superb live band and still going I believe.

Futureheads supporting Biffy Clyro at Hull Arena were very good too.
