He also admitted there are flaws in any proposal (that would include his own) but reckons [i"we have enough smart people within the game to iron them out"[/i. They'll have to get rid of the current incumbents at the RFL first!
Mutual support for the return of P&R alongside a 5 team play-off system is not dependent upon mutual support for the principle of a 10 team league.
HTH'"
Wrong William, Peacock is advocating a return of P&R only between a 2-tier, 20 team SL that is licensed. Peacock is also only advocating a 5 team playoff system in a 10 team league.
Peacock's support, from that article anyway, most certainly is dependent on the principle of a 10 team league.
You got carried away there didn't you? You should've read the article properly.

Completely disagree but that aside he doesn't have those "magical days" consistently enough and even more so at International level to warrant the hype imo.

That's rubbish rhinoms. You seem to have always held this view on Chase of not liking him. Like him or not, there is no getting away from the fact that he is one hell of a magical player when on form. He correctly got MOS the other year as he was by far the best player in the comp that year. Last year was a troubled year for him, although certain times we saw that magic. You only have to look at the last two Cas games on Sky, to see what he can do. Nobody else in this competition has a passing game to match Chase, simple as that. Indeed as a Leeds fan you only have to look at the game there this year, where he was a million miles ahead of any other player on the field that day.
People get too up on themselves about broken field runners, and there is no doubt the likes of Tomkins, Burrow, etc, do damage that way. But a passing game of the likes of Chase is something to admire from a far, as it is that sort of game that really damages the oppossition and is harder to defend.

If Peacock really believed Super League was still super, he wouldn't be claiming [i"The league seems to slowly be eroding, like the coast against the tide"[/i and advocating major changes to the structure involving the return of P&R and a 5-team play-off system. If he really believed it was still super, he wouldn't be worried that it's going to fail therefore it's better to stand on one's feet and die trying rather than live one one's knees. He also believes that the great administrators are pro-active and strategise; they don’t wait for something to happen before taking action. That's a call by Peacock for the RFL to prove their worthiness as administrators and do their job properly before it's too late and the damage to the game is irreparable. Comprehend it again, without reading what you want to read into it in order to fit your own bias.

| Broken field running relies a lot on good fortune, with a large element of skill don't get me wrong, but the threat that Chase has on his day is the ability to break down some very well organised defence. He clearly has his negatives and can occassionally be accused of looking for the 'miracle' ball, but he always challenges a defence.

You appear to be having difficulty in comprehending what Peacock is actually saying. He's advocating the return of P&R to establish the future composition of the elite division. Any movement of clubs between the elite division and the one below shall be via P&R and definitely NOT via the now discredited licensing process. He's also advocating a 5 team play-off system. At no stage has he said that for these necessary changes to take place, they must be entirely dependent upon the setting up of two divisions of ten teams, otherwise do nothing at all.
I have only advocated the return of P&R, the scrapping of licensing between the elite division and the division below, and the return of the Top 5 play-off system. I am happy that JP agrees with me on these vital changes to the structure of the game which are desperately required in order to avoid the sport ending up on it's knees. At no stage have I ever advocated two divisions of 10 teams. If you have a problem with 10 teams, feel free to contact JP with your concerns with regard to his views on that. He's on twitter.

You appear to be struggling William He is advocating a 2-tier SL with P&R only between those 2 tiers. It would be a licensed SL, just with 2 tiers. That is dependent on 2 tiers of 10, as is the 5 team playoff series, since a 2 tier SL is the context within which Peacock has advocated P&R and a 5 team playoff series. No amount of wriggling, guff and distortion on your part will alter the fact that you were attempting to use Peacock's article as backup for your own views, which it does not.
I asked you about a 10 team SL because you appeared to be agreeing with Peacock's article, hence agreeing with a 10 team league. Obviously you didn't read the article properly.

Your bluster and spin is irrelevant. Peacock quite clearly states what he thinks, Your attempts to reinterpret his statements are pointless. Especially when you seem to have such trouble understanding tense.

Totally agree.
Gotcha-I don't have any problem at all i have my own opinion and with reference to him v us he Kicked a 40/20 and opened us up for 1 try and still should have been sent off hardly the magician you make him out to be and also as for his passing game big Ali opened up teams and created just as much havoc if not more than him.
As for broken field runners Burrow ,Tompkins ,Mcguire et al have all opened up set defences and done it in the big games and far more consistently than Chase.
Chase is a good player imo but definately over-hyped IMO also looking at how Moon is developing his passing game and how good his game-breaking talent is he's proving to be just as creative without the head farts and hype.

Your kidding yourself mate.
Just two isolated incidents on their own over last couple of weeks wathching him on sky. Not one, not one, of the players you mention above would have had the vision or the ability to match those two seperate reverse passes he did, never mind the wonderful ball for that cas try against Widnes on Saturday.
He is not over hyped at all. He is playing in a team of limited indivdiuals where is class far exceeds what they can offer him. Surround him with good players and he would destroy oppossitions.
This crap about big games, is exactly that, crap. Until he has been in the position that others you mentioned have, then he can hardly be put down as a comparison for it.

This is the difference between me and you on it. I am not saying McGuire, Burrow, Tomkins, Webb, Ali, etc, are not or have not been great players. What I have said is that Chase is the most magical player in the competition, and he is. Non of those players you mention would have had the vision or ability to do what Chase did with those two revers passes seen on sky last couple of weeks, especially the one against Huddersfield. That's the bottom line mate.
Each of the ones you have mentioned would have done something great, no doubt about it, same as a lot of others have done at times, but Chase's passing game far exceeds any of those.

I've seen him play in a big game - the Challenge Cup semi in 2011. Granted, he scored a great try. But I wouldn't say he was the most 'magical' player that day - in fact didn't he miss a straight forward (well straight forward for such a magical player anyhow) drop goal attempt as time ran out that would have sent Cas to Wembley?
The more recent events you mention - where was he for the most part of the Huddersfield game? (Apart from being sat on the bench for being binned for dissent).
And that's his whole trouble for me - flashes of greatness, but not enough of it consistently. I'm glad that the rumours of him coming to Leeds turned out to be just that.

I've not said he isn't a good player he is but for me isn't consistent enough to match the hype that surrounds him.
As for the other bit that's bollox every time we've been linked with him i've always maintained i wouldn't have him here nor swop him for Burrow either when that move was mooted.
Whatever my Rhinos biased is IF we had a chance to sign real top class arrivals i'd support that because that makes the Club i support stronger it's a no brainer.

| I don't doubt you've argued against Leeds having any interest in Chase in the past but I'm sure you'd soon adapt and love him=#FF0000 if he was a Leeds player bringing a dangerous running, passing and kicking game while exploding the occasional bomb in defence.
Chase can be a bit flaky in the temperament department but so was Brent Webb for much of his Leeds career (Mike McIlorum at Wigan etc) and that's just something I guess you have to try and control but ultimately live with the consequences of the odd indiscretion.
The only issue I'd have had with Leeds signing Chase a couple of seasons ago wasn't the prospect of him replacing Burrow at scrum-half but how effective he would be able to integrate with Leeds' number one play-maker.

| Rangi is a good player but he is also very overrated, I would not have him anywhere near the England team. Yes, he has moments of Magic, but can he control and win a big match like Sinfield, No. The majority of the time when Rangi has the ball he doesn't know what he's going to do, nevermind his teammates.

Chase's try was brilliant but his overall performance that day was awful, including some very non magical passing.
Gotcha has a tendency to over-rate Cas players, remember Craig Huby is the greatest forward in the league.
Chase was no deserving of Man of Steel tother year. He was superb up to about Easter but petered out badly.
He has some moments of brilliance but moments is the operative word. Of course, in such a sheeyite team this could be because he has to try and do too much but like a certain Danny Brough (who produces more consistently than Chase) he's probably on a sheeyite team because a team like Leeds wouldn't touch him. He may well take more away than he adds.
