and although I get confused how the salary cap works, I guess Walkins and McShane wont be in the 20 - giving us the usual spare place should anyone become available....

Wouldn't be too disapointed to see Bailey go and bring another big hitter in, but that is probably wishful thinking.... and maybe just because he's been missing for a while...

I think it's 25 players that are included in the main salary cap.

Only 50% of Keef and JJB's salary count on the cap from next year too as it will be their 11th season with us (those 2 join Kev in that list), so we should be fine with the cap.

The squad looks very strong, I suppose it would be nice to have a utility back who could provide competition for the halves and fill in elsewhere if needed but that would be an added bonus IMO.

Its not, but with a maximum spend of £50,000 per club then its likely to only involve one players wages.

I agree i also think there should be more leeway within the cap for acadamy produced players.

It's better than nothing though and a recognition of loyalty at a time when a players worth may be diminishing in the game (Senior), allowing a retaining club to make a slightly higher offer than the player may otherwise have received.

I suppose that's one way of looking at it. Even if the money has already been "spent", on Sinfield and JJ-B I would imagine, it does still give us a little extra flexibility.

I do however think they should go further, and offer incentives to any player who has come through the clubs juniors and spent 10 years at the same club.

I think I'd still like to see 1 more addition to the current squad.

Doncaster V Halifax on Sky before he signed for Leeds...... nothing since.

Did he look any good?

Given Doncaster's problems, and loss of players, I'd take his performances for the rest of this season with a pinch of salt.

It's a good question and one I don't really have an answer for based on that one game. Doncaster were completely outgunned (although it was also a hit and miss performance from Halifax) and Coady's involvement was fairly minimal.

Just have to wait till next season then. By the sounds of it this is happening in most games he plays in. So it would be harsh to judge him just yet.
