| If true I can see now why coach McClennan (on considering all his options) decided against recalling Jones-Bishop who after all is primarily a full-back.
No way would he have got in that back division.

| I can not see one person on the 3 pages writing off either Coady or Clarkson individually.
I can only see people talking about players out of position. Have I missed something?

Clarkson to score anytime for this evening. Playing outside Senior when attacking, could bag one or two (i hope)

It must be March. Rhinos fekkwitts slagging the coach and the team. Lesson's not learned from 2007. 2008 and 2009.

Clearly the messages posted by Gotcha and TVOC were fully supportive of the new entrants into the "slowest backline", "the Rhinos have ever put out."

Who is writing them off?

Hardly writing Coady off though to describe him as a "Diamond in the rough".

| I am with G1 on this one.
Bluey is clearly having to make some difficult decisions at the moment, if rumours are true, and I trust him to make them to the best of his knowledge and ability. He has right up until 60 mins before the game to choose his side, when he has to pin the final team sheet up on the dressing room door. Lets wait and see tonight eh?

Maybe that is what they will do Frostie.
It should be interesting to see how Justin Morgan plots to get his wingmen on the outside of our backline.
If we can prevent the ball going out wide we can still win this one.
Come on you Leeds, well not literally.

Now find me a post where I have written Coady or Clarkson off.
My issue here is with coach McClennan's decision earlier in the week 'when considering all his options' decided against bringing Jones-Bishop back from his loan spell at the Harlequins.

Don't explain yourself tvoc, no need for it, just usual childish blown out of all proportion post posted.
Nobody's written off Clarkson or Coady.NOBODY.
But if anyone can not discuss playing players out of position, then G1 has achieved his goal of making this the most tedious forum on RLFANS.
But if any other posters want to discuss players out of position or know anymore about tonights team, please feel encouraged to discuss.

My opinion on the subject is this:
I'm viewing the situation from a point of view of the season as a whole (or indeed the career of a promising youngster), not just 1 game.
There is little doubt that BJB would fit into the backline well tonight. Is it the best thing for him to be taken out of Quins for a game or two to fill our gap, only to have to go back down again, and maybe have to fight for his place, or even not get the loaned restarted? Probably not.
If hall is only injured for a week, and Bush is considered a winger who can do a good job, then I'm happy for BJB to stay where he is.
If Webb is out for a month or more, then I would expect to see BJB recalled and be first choice, but I think McClennan will be wary of disrupting him unnecessarily.
As a position to have an injury crisis in, Wing is about the best place to have one.
We may lose tonight. If we do, so be it. Its 2 points, and I'm sure long term the rest given to the injured players, and the experience gained by our next generation of players will be vital.
I'd certainly be happier using a kid when the a first teamer is not 100%, rather than have him making things worse.
It may be that some of these youngsters come in and do a great job.

I agree with all of that Leicester, absolutely all of it.
My only gripe based on the rumour of the team is a backrower come centre playing on the wing, ahead of another junior who is a winger. And no particular individual, just a winger.
If Clarkson was coming in for Sinfield, and the rumours about the team are wrong, then great.

On the face of it I agree. If we have a young winger available and physically/mentally ready then yeah, he should get the job ahead of a loose forward.
I don't have enough info to comment on any of these young players as unless they played boxing day I have not seen them in action.

| Whatever the way they line up both Coady and Clarkson will be out there with plenty of quality and experience in the shape of Senior,Delaney,Webb and a very mobile back-row.
I think the points raised are valid in terms of the positions the newcomers will play but lets just trust the coach and his staff to make the right calls and see where we are.
We all want what's best for the team and at the moment it's not quite happening both form and injury wise but we WILL come out of it and lets get behind them and cheer them on tonight.
FWIW if there are more injuries and others that are not deemed "ready" by the coach then i'm more than happy to go along with that.

I agree. With our injury list mounting, Bluey should have recalled BJB last weekend. Of course he can play on the wing and it is unfair to say he can't because of 2 previous outings when he was younger. Remember Watkins has had a few poor games including terribly finishing on the wing that cost us the WCC and we have not written him off.
BJB knows the way to the line and is big and strong and has recent SL experience so should be in the team tonight.

That doesn't fit the "bigger picture" though does it?
He's playing week in week out in his natural favoured position at FB,recalling him for a couple of games as a stand in winger won't help that development long term.
I'd only like to see Bjb recalled if Webb is gonna be missing for a number of games and at the moment we don't even know how well the Youngsters that are called into the 1st team are gonna get on.

I think people are somehow willing to overlook Jones-Bishop. They talk about him on here as Webb's likely replacement at full-back. Do they realise that Webb still has another 20 months to run on his present deal by which time (even if Webb then leaves) Jones-Bishop will be mid way between 23 and 24 years of age.
As it stands I could see the argument for him going on loan at the start of the season with his route into 1st grade at Leeds blocked but as the injuries in the outside backs have mounted does anyone actually believe if he was part of the 1st grade 25 man squad available (as he was last season) that he'd not be playing in preference to some of the options being talked about tonight.

Its a big gamble not to have all our options available especially as we have had a poor start to the season with 3 SL games already lost and indifferent performances in 2 of the 3 wins. If BJB was back we could have the option to play Webb in another position if needed. More points lost now could be difficult to make up as we have not really played the big boys yet.

If it transpires that Webb gets injured or is needed elsewhere then i'd expect him to be recalled.
We don't know the time-frame with regards Halls absence nor do we actually know how well Coady,Clarkson and if selected and not injured Bush will get on.
I honestly think Bluey and the staff are best placed to make that call and if it's deemed Bjb is better off where he is then fine it will benefit us long term i'm sure.
