| Quote ="Buck Tarbrush"Decent player with plenty of aggression and go forward , someone had concerns over his temperament , personally I would welcome someone with a bit of genuine mongrel about them .
Not a stellar signing by any means , but if it means Kirke never plays prop again its fine by me.
P.s. I remember Wigan fans being just as underwhelmed when they signed Coley , but that didnt turn out too badly .'"
I'd agree with that - Moore has improved massively over the last few years (even with his health problems, ill child etc etc). Not a stellar signing but then what do we expect at prop. And we've been crying out for a bit more of a sh*thouse pack (especially when JP was out).
The three year deal is a surprise for a 30yr old but I'm sure that Leeds have saved a fair bit of salary cap space by giving him an extra year.
I only hope this doesn't mean Bailey won't be renewed (I'd much rather have him for another year than Kirke or Kylie).

I think that label was when he was 18 and since then he has done nothing at all to live up to it and i seriously doubt at 30 he is going to start now. One of mcdermott's mates you would guess, how else would he get a 3 year contract.....absolute joke signing

What deal did he get? You obviously know the details

Quote in reality IMHO he offers nothing better than what was at the club already and does nothing to delight the fans and bring in the merchandise. who wants a Richie Moore action figurine? who will want to have his number on the shirt?'"
With the possible exception of Barrie Mac I can't imagine the club wouldn't really expect a prop forward to shift any merchandise.
Lets at least try and keep some sense of perspective.

Hetherington has and always will control who Leeds sign. I'm sure he consults the coach but the decision is very much Gawy's.
You've also suggested "how else would he get a 3 year contract" - do you really think McDermott negotiates terms

| listen mate i have worked at the club previously for a number of years.....I know exactly how Gary dictates money matters, and I also know he does not pick the team, and he has agreed to Moore coming simply because he is cheap end of.....and if you really think Gary has called mcdermott into his office to tell him that he has signed Moore and that mcdermott said ' great Boss' then you are a fool.

If he was a world beater, or had significant room for improvement in him, then maybe I could understand it, but this makes no sense whatsoever.'" Because after next year we will lose Kylie, and maybe Peacock, which would leave us with a forward rotation of Kirke, Bailey, Amor, Singleton and Ambler, which when you think about it is a 2nd rower, a kid nowhere near ready to be a frontline prop, and unproven 21 year old, and Kyle Amor who lets be honest has had a good, but not outstanding 1 year in SL along with Bailey.
Moore is cheap, and will do a job, he is experienced and will give us continuity.
If this is the sum total of our recruitment, then I would be very disappointed. As a signing in isolation, I cant complain, he will make a decent squad member.

"Squad member" = Kirke. Say no more.
You're assuming Amor and Ambler will both still be here in 2012....and that nobody else will conceivably become available this time next year. Both would be wrong I would suggest.
It's a poor signing to add to the others (Kirke, Lleulai, Webb) made this year.

A "squad player" who is ALWAYS considered good enough to make the first 17 week in week out
"Decent career" ??....by god the club needs blinkered, indoctrinated fanatical supporters like you. Keep the faith eh ?
All that you advocate and support is short termism. What's the long term strategy ?(say 2013 for example ? )

)'" Not at all, i think it is you who is looking short term. We need space in our squad to help blood this very very talented group of youngsters we have. I think we have Ian Kirkes replacement within the squad. Jay Pitts. I want to see Kirke get fewer games over the next two years as Pitts gets more. We dont need to go out and replace Kirke because that will mean less space for Pitts. Over the next two/three years i want to see Singleton, Ward, Hood, Casey, Hardaker, Ambler et al move into the first team, they will do that by winding up as players like Sinfield, JP, Kylie, Moore, Senior, Buderus wind down. We have decent succession planning in place, this is a fantastic thing for the club to do, over the next 2/3 years we will see 2/3 players replaced, and where we cant bring players through we will bring them in. Kylie and Moore and replacing Cross and Burgess not Ambler and Singleton.
If we can bring in a quality centre like Pomeroy and a good second rower to replace Ali im confident that with our youngsters coming through we are well placed to challenge next year and the years after.
