| Goalkicking can definitely make the difference and it does build pressure going up in 6`s as opposed to 4.
There`s only Frawley or Miller imo that are capable but I would put them nearer the 65% success rate compared to Martins 80%+
Sinfield is probably the only other one who could get near Martin and he is unlikely to play more than 10 games.

Frawley isn't a goal kicker.
Momirosvki was goal kicker for Wests when he played, not sure of his success rate though. Miller kicked for Newcastle, again not sure on his success rate.
Now Im not for one minute saying they are as good as Martin, not many are, but we may have to go with them, I don't think we are in a position to recruit someone just for their goal kicking.

| Yeh I saw a report saying that Arthur will be taking Dufty and Momirovski to Perth with him.
And Momirovski because of his goal kicking.
Granted it was Aussie press, but still he must have a decent record.
We'll miss Martin's goal kicking no doubt, but if we get a big powerful back row in his place, I can live with that.
As well as the 2 props we need of course.

| I thought he went really well tonight against Catalan. He is really the only player in our forward pack who looks to be able to break the line. I think we will also miss his versatility to be able to move to centre which means we haven’t had to carry any backs on the bench for a long time.

Still not officially signed for KR. While I think changes are needed if he doesn't count on the overseas quota next year it seems mad to let him go unless a very impressive replacement has been lined up. Arthur has proved you don't need the biggest team, you just need to play as a team. Would like rhyse to be part of 2025 though.

| We did offer him a deal some time ago. He wanted more - whether salary or duration nobody knows - so he's leaving. One thing is absolutely certain, if we want to get back to the top we have to be utterly ruthless when it comes to cap spend - decide what players are worth and stick to it. Every £10k we give one player means that money can't be used elsewhere. We cannot go back to any player and go beyond what we think works under the cap.
He's about the best of our overseas players when his kicking is included. But we've loaded up on overseas backs and the only one that's leaving is Fusitu'a. Our biggest problem area is the pack, and Martin is one of a number of smaller forwards. He's quick and makes the odd break and can cover centre. But mostly he's stopped dead on impact, along with most of our other forwards. If retaining Martin would have stopped us signing a second high quality prop then IMO its not worth it, as we absolutely need two.

He's not officially signed elsewhere, won't be on the quota next season, has been our most consistent player for 4 years, rarely out injured and rarely gets pushed back in the collision (unlike a lot of our pack until recently) and can kick as well as anyone. Also can slot into centre of needed. Better be someone bloody good to replace him as for me he's been up there with Ablett and JJB for continuous performance levels and effort. A pre-season under Arthur too just says please keep him within reasonable terms.

| The latest RL media take on the quota rules, which seems to stem from Matt Shaw, is that it will change for 2026 not 2025. We shall see.

| Sorry I forgot to mention he's probably our best overseas player...or did you choose to ignore that?..Rhyse makes ground sometimes with his speed and can make a break better than most, but in contact he's as easily stopped as most of our forwards. If you think he's Gorden Tallis reincarnated then I can't help you.

| His kicking alone is worth his retention imo.
At the minute he is also the best centre at the club .
Why are we letting our top stars go to Hull KR .
When we give them the one thing they need a great kicker next year then it’s a huge mistake.
No disrespect to rovers I think they will win things this and next year.

| Nothing Leeds can do if he doesn't want to extend his contract.
Suppose it depends who we replace him with as to how big a loss he is. A big line bending player would be perfect

Don’t think we need to start begging him to stay. He wants out and free’s up a crucial cap space. I’m more interested to see who comes in to be honest…..

| It is official as of 3.30pm on a 2 year deal and less money than Leeds offered. Just wants to win something and Leeds don’t offer that option.

Leeds don't offer that option? Hmmmm, tell me the last time KR lifted a trophy? Leeds have been in the doldrums by there standards for some years, but once things start to go in the right direction that will change very quickly. Wish Rhyse all the best, but if I was a KR fan I'd at least wait to win something before starting the bragging.

| I suspect it may be more to do with the contract length than anything else. I've as much idea about £££ involved as anyone else on here i.e. none. As for winning something, who knows this season. KR are certainly in with more than a shout. Lots of ifs, buts and maybes where next season is concerned though. Backing up is difficult, there are no guarantees where that is concerned. It's all about opinions though.

| Rhyse has left a big gap in terms of reliability, versatility and goal kicking. Not too shoddy at breaking the line either. Very interested to see what irons Blease / BA pull out of the fire for 2025.

Not so sure Leeds are annoyed, disappointed maybe. I like Martin and he has rarely let us down and if nothing else we not only need to find an equivalent if not better player we also need to find a goalkicker which isn`t that easy.
My guess is it`s down to the length of the contract that swayed him and it`s not about him winning more with you.
Look at Burgess signing for Huddersfield.
He certainly didn`t go there to win things he went due to the amount they were paying him and presumably the length of the contract.
Don`t kid yourself that players these days go to clubs to win silverware.

How ironic is your quote Cookie, as the last time that Hull KR won a major trophy was back in the year 1985.
The same year that "Back to the Future" first hit our cinema screens.
Lets hope that the clubs flux capacitor doesn't pack in
