There has been a fair bit i have been talking about refs on here recently, but when judging them i try and look at them overall rather than picking decisions.

Most of the time you hear people complaining about refs its about this decision or that decision, realistically you arent going to see a ref get everything right. And Hicks certainly didnt tonight. But he didnt get many decisions terribly wrong, and certainly not in the favour of one team. He didnt ref to my preference but I wont have a go because he was consistent.

What I would say is that Hicks did not make 1 error worse than Ryan Halls pass, he didnt make 1 error even close to as bad as either Brough or Ellis' kick out on the full.

And as I said before, his complaints about the ref are as much a disservice to the performance of his players as it is to ours because bar the bounce of a ball here and there Hudds would have won that game with a referee who 'had a shocker'

As for the performance, we were miles better than the previous weeks (it wasn't difficult). Our defense was superb, and had Hall been more assertive I'm not sure Hudds would've scored a try.
All the forwards played their part, Garbutt and Singleton were great, and JP and Cuthbertson really rolled up their sleeves. All the players were great in defense. Burrow was good at DH too, obviously he's no Aiton, but he was solid. I thought it was a great move by McDermott to have Ward defending more centrally, we didn't look vulnerable in the middle, at all.
Ward is a big loss though, it looks a serious one.

Best game I've seen Hicks have, and I'd have said that if it had stopped at 70 minutes with Hides 16-8 up.

I thought the defense was great tonight. Hudds have one of the best defences so we needed to be tight to get the points.

It was great to see a cover intense game where defence is so strong and tried have to be earned

This year Ward has gone from a good young player who hasnt really taken that step up, to our best back row forward, and not only our best back rower but possibly our best back rower since Ali.

For all the downsides of burrow as a starting 9 we looked much sharper with him than playing with Sinny there and one half.

Ward was our best player before he went off. Was impressed by our defence all-round but Ward was a big part of that. Less impressed by our last tackle options and inability to get repeat sets, but that's the thing to work on next week.

Well done Leeds Rhinos, players and coaching staff, on a very well deserved victory. Whilst they have been a bit disappointing in the last 3 weeks, they really stuck to the task tonight and reaped the rewards. 2 down, big one to go....

Ward getting injured could be the straw that breaks the camels back. He was world class in the middle tonight.

Winning the treble was always a tall order subject to potential injuries: can Leeds cover yet another possible one? It will be a fittng tribute for this team to achieve it....I want them to, but at the same time more than pleased with what the team has given us this season.

Absolutely unbelievable night, the rugby equivalent of when Man city won the league a few years ago in terms of the drama. I think everyone had settled for the home tie finishing seconds, the following moments were then just a blur. Brilliant finish looks like every minute did matter aha

Phenomenal effort to come back from the last few weeks and put in a performance like that. Never say due attitude. Certainly shows up my lack of faith this time last week. With the league leaders and challenge cup is been a successful season, even if we lose next week. Judging by the very muted celebrations though I get the feeling that the squad are hungry to finish the job

I know but you can't underestimate the role Ward played tonight.

That we've done 2/3 is pleasing enough to me, if we fall at the final hurdle due to injuries I can live with.

Keinhorst could do a job, but as I pointed out beforehand when someone beforehand complained about his absence.....he is overcoming his own injury (an eye injury)

Lilley was never, ever going to be thrown into a game like that unless Burrow or Sinfield pulled up lame.

Still getting over last night. The different emotions in that stand, what an awesome atmosphere.

Best performance in a number of weeks. Some not so good individual performances, but collectively we were incredible at times. Especially our goal line defence was just unbelievable. To win a game like that is what you dream about. Stevie Ward was just sensational, feel gutted for the lad. Thought Cuthbertson put in a massive shift, he just needs to use his head a bit more. Burrow did exactly the job required of him and gave energy at the right time. Sinfield really wanted that, and worked for it.

That was a lot of effort there, and we did not look fatigued at all. They really played from the heart last night.

there are still things to work on but the biggest thing e can take from that is confidence. the players will have a spring in their step on Monday. lets hope we can have another great day out at scum Trafford. it's been to long
