| Mullally was far from our worst player last year. He was a solid, cheap, hard working squad filler who was clearly a McDermott project but was also a Grand Final winner.
There's little indication so far that the players who have come in and replaced him are any better and his contribution is worthy of acknowledgement.

| I posted previously that Brian Mac would be after his favoured signings that were out of favour at the Rhinos once he landed in Canada
Mullally is the first I wouldn't be surprised if he came in for Golding

He may not have been the worst but definitely the most stupid. Repeat bans for use of the knee during a period in which our pack was on its ar$e injury wise was unforgivable. Good decision.

Exactly. Coincidentally I was re-watching the 2017 GF this aft and thinking what a good contribution he made in that game. Not MOTM but in no way out of place or out of his depth. Never really kicked on after that but then again, which of the silver generation has?

| Would be good back up as a squad player for quality frontline props. Unfortunately we don’t have quality frontline props.
I don’t even know what front line props are but I wanted to put it in.

| Fair play to him for taking the new opportunity. It's a Shame he didn't kick on, I thought he could have been a decent player for us.
I'd expect a new face to come in now the squad has been trimmed

| Will stand out as a good prop in the championship imo and BM knows all about him good luck to him.
Here's hoping something is in the works regarding a prop coming in.

You would think there has to be otherwise why not keep the likes of Mullally as back up even if he plays for Fev most weeks.

As long as they are quality. We already have the squad props really; it’s a starting prop or two we need, ideally in the Walmsley/Hill mould. Or a fit Garbutt.
If we got one decent quality player in this season it would help, maybe another one using Cuthbertson and Parcell’s salary next year...

I’d like to see Parcell perform playing with decent props again. It’d be a shame to have a quality front row but no Parcell. Cuthbertson’s getting on, If one of the two were to go, logic says it’d be him

Yes i agree. Highly unlikely we get a Walmesley Hill type but we are woefully short in the engine room and we certainly need a prop who can churn out some big metres for us. More likely a Garbutt type but that would do for me and i could see us looking a far better team for it.

Agree 100%.
We miss his ability to win penalties from the opposition holding down in the ruck, and his nose for the odd close-range try. I'm disappointed it didn't work for him, and I think he's come under some unfair criticism on this message board too, but perhaps I'm in the minority here. Sure, he didn't produce the goods often enough last year, but I'm not sure exactly what the difference is between him and someone like Singleton. As for the knees in the tackle, it never did Stuart Fielden any harm.
Perhaps they feel he's too much of a distraction with the Vegan cafe stuff, or he didn't impress Sinfield enough at the back end of last season? If Garbutt was shown the door first, it really was only a matter of time for Mullally... Hope it works out for him at Toronto.
I would be expecting a signing soon now - otherwise it's a bit daft to cut the squad back so far at this point in the season. Let's hope it's not another second-rower masquerading as a prop!

| I reckon the emergence of Johnson this year (hopefully) into the first team will ease any potential loss of Parcell at season end.

Won’t be surprised if Parcell leaves and King comes in from Featherstone. Lower wage package and I think he’ll be at Leeds next season anyway. I think we will get a big name prop signing.

Do we have quota space for an overseas signing? Not sure if there’s a suitable player in SL/Championship unless we’re back in for Ikahihifo or some such.
Thing is if we are going to aim back at the top again, we are going to need props in that top/close to international quality. We have a couple of good young players coming through but they can’t be carrying the side at 18-20 years old.

What we don’t need and what the club do are totally different things, if they believe King would improve us, then they’ll do it, just like Donaldson.

But Donaldson hasn't improved us.
I don't know anything about King but the hooking role has been a problem for years and has been constantly changed hopefully Corey Johnson can be the man to stop that. He's not the quickest but his dummy half play is very clever and I hope he gets his chance sooner than later.
Signing 2nd rate Aussies instead of promoting our academy kids will not bring success to Leeds.

I saw King last week, he looks a good thinking hooker, not quick, but reads the game well. Very good defender. But not someone that stands out.
I too have heard the same as Frosties, that King at Fev was always a trial for a future at Leeds.
IF that is the case, I doubt very much that it will be at the expense of Johnson. That would be stupidity. That lad is clearly the potential to be international class and quickly. I have said this for a number of years and maintain it, he is just like Daryl Clark when younger, with the added quality of actually reading the game around him. He can play various other positions should it be needed, so his value to a seventeen is pretty big. I do t know how he would cope physically yet, but still think the sooner he is introduced the better. He was always the X factor player of that age group we have talked about for last three years.

| I don't think Corey has anywhere near the speed of Daryl Clark but he's just a good footballer. He makes the right decisions has the brain to throw a dummy and go through or give the pass at the right time. His dummy half play is very clever and improving all the time. Just a really good player and has a real chance.
It looks like Parcell won't be at Leeds next year, he's a far better player than Dwyer but he's not showing it at the minute for whatever reason.
Everyone is wanting signings all the time yet look at our record in recent years on players we've signed. There's been more miss than hit thats for sure.

| I think we all want a competitive team - that is a blend of signings and younger players coming through the system. The lack of success with signing is down to two things:
1. The lack of talent in the UK game
2. The inability to attract top talent from the NRL
Developing youngsters is the only way forward - and the pool of talented youngsters decreases as the amateur game shrinks - tough spot to be in.
