Anyone recall the game away at Thrum Hall late 1980's in the snow?(Where's TVOC when you need the exact details?)
I recall both sets of fans having a mass snow ball fight both prior to the game and at half time too, happy days

I remember a cup tie in 86 in the snow that Leeds won 24-4. Tony Currie scored a peach at the bottom of the hill and Keith Rayne scored off a Jeff Grayshon offload.
Fans were pelting snowballs around that day so I presume that's one you are talking about.
Halifax was top of the league and had Joe Kilroy at full back who was frozen to death as was I.
we went on to lose in cup semi replay v KR at Bell End Road.

Was that a high-scoring affair? I seem to remember winning one Boxing Day with a daft score like 42-38 or something. I might have dreamt it though!

| I go to a few Fax games if we've played on the Friday. Worth it for the Three Pigeons alone! Decent fans too. Hope they make a few bob out of the game.

I remember the cold but not the detail of the game. Grayson was a great player in his career, at Leeds he tried his heart out but was literally playing on one leg. He looked like he was doing an impression of long john silver.
I remember an away game at Swinton, think in challenge cup and I think it was him that got his boot laces tangled up with another player and they had to stop play for a bit. My memory maybe playing tricks though.

Should be good actually been a few years since we played Fax. Sure Halifax will be up for having a go at us but we should be too good in the end.

Hello all, long time supporter, first time poster here...
With respect I think Kevin Rayne scored off a Grayshon offload in the 18-18 league match draw earlier in the season. I remember he used to follow Grayshon often & burst onto a short pass "off the shoulder" if you know what I mean.
I do remember the freezing cold cup game you refer to. The entire 25 metre zone was frozen at one end and I recall Creasser shooting past Kilroy to score with the latter seemingly struggling for traction. The Evening Post comment was something like "Creasser skated past Kilroy."
Thanks for triggering all these great memories.

| How that game was ever played I will never know. The grass was literally black in patches and I don't think I'd ever actually seen straw on a pitch till that point and come to think og it, not sure if I have since.

| If i recall correctly it was this match where Joe Kilroy had to have his boots undone for him at the end of the game. It was said that a few players had mild hypothermia! JK was a brilliant player by the way.
