WTF?
I've yet to see anyone seriously injured from a tap on the shoulder. The only 'lucky' part was probably in Leeds getting the penalty for such a limp-wristed challenge. It was the correct call though but in no way comparable to what the little sh*thouse pulled on Clyde at Wembley.
Did that sending off lead to one of the two victories (from 16 attempts) V Australia that Schofield was banging on about last week?

I thought Hanley dropped Schofield for that game, meaning he never did break the GB appearance record? I'd have thought the two victories were Wembley '90 and Melbourne '92?
As for the OP, I read it as being severely tongue in cheek, but around here you never know.

| I also read it as tongue in cheek.
Tired, slightly sloppy effort. Edwards or Ian Smales wouldn't have bothered exercising their shoulder muscles for such a tap though.
The Edwards effort on Clyde was one of the finest I've ever seen. Feet off the ground, tackler spun round by impact. More Tito Santana than anything else really.

That was caused by a medical problem. The carotid artery, responsible for blood flow to the head, was about 8 inches in diameter in the younger Moz. He had a surgical procedure to stem the flow while in Oz and now isn't quite so prone to sudden rushes.

| It was a careless arm by a player who'd been stepped. Nothing more, nothing less.
Hilarious though that it was McGoldrick

So do you think the FBI were involved or LBJ as Jackie Onasis reckons it was who was behind it?

| By the fact theres not a thread about the penalty on the cas board they seem to accept the decision was correct all apart from the odd numpty anyway.
If McGoldrick doesnt swing an arm at his head its a try so the ref had no decision to make for me.

Suppose it gives his strippers extra purchase to work with.

Spot on! You can see why he swung it too. High tackles like that have been missed by refs in the past so he had to chance his arm and hope for the best. Sinfield could have missed the kick as well. Either would have been better than a try.

IMV he swung high because he'd been wrongfooted & so his only recourse was to try to dislodge the ball, but as often happens when that's the aim his arm starts on Danny's shoulder & ends up smacking him on the chin & cheek with the flat of his hand.
Clearcut penalty.

I think there were plenty of "clearcut penalties" that weren't given. Look back at the recording at the 2nd PTB from the scrum at the end (one PTB prior to Chase's attempted drop goal) and see where Peacock and Clarkson are stood in regards to each other........
CLEARCUT PENALTY..............

Does this mean you agree the correct decision was made with regard to the McGuire/McGoldrick tackle?

So why does that negate one that was?
What about when Ferres in an offside position dislodges the ball from Hall's hands & you got the scrum?
Or the countless times both sides weren't square or onside at the PTB, or was that only the Rhinos too?
