the super leagues clubs agree there should be only 14 clubs wakefield put in their application yesterday and that halifax may yet still replace someone and at least one club will lose it licence

Made decision now to give widnes time to build and prepere for SL. Why havent they made all the decisions now then. If Fax go forward and get a licence why should they be given less time to prepere than Widnes?

Nah, they've won SL. No reason to kick them out. Warrington have had their chance. Time to give Fax a go. If we're losing Wakefield we'll be down to only 6 Yorkshire clubs too. That's far to far away from "half" as far as I'm concerned. With Fax back in it would address the balance.

Looking forward to seeing Widnes in SL next season.

That's the process. Are you suggesting that Halifax cannot now under any circumstance gain a SL license for the next three years?

The remaining 13 will be handed out at the end of July. That's still before clubs are allowed to officially contact player's coming out of contract so Halifax in theory would not be disadvantaged if learning of their inclusion at that time.

I'm not saying that it will happen either (I don't think it will) but a lot could change in three months and Halifax meet the criteria set so still have a chance.

Can't see two existing SL clubs being given the boot, so I would suggest Halifax are going into the pot for the other 13 places as rank outsiders.

Only other place I could see even potentially being in jeopardy is Salford, given their results on the field and the fact they will be judged on their current stadium rather than the proposed one.

I thought the Widnes fans were very dignified at the announcement. Taking time to reflect on the momentous decision, weighing up the pros and cons, formulating the correct response. Only eight seconds later (adjusted to allow for the time it takes for news to pass from Widnesian outer ears to cerebral cortex) for them to be jumping around the room as if it's feeding time at the zoo. Anyone notice Cullen stood in the corner with the stop-watch timing the reaction.

The issue is about preparation and infrastructure - Widnes have got an unfair advantage on Halifax if the get accepted in July.

Not a chance in my view - at least a trip to Widnes does give your lungs a work out in actually finding the limited amount of oxygen in the air.

From what I remember of Widnes (and it's been a while!? My research tells me 23rd April 2005), it's no worse than Cas. Or is that like saying being kicking in the balls in no worse than being shot in the head?
