The only difference will be when saints are playing bottom feeder teams they’ll lose because the squad won‘t be up for the game like these two players have been consistently since 2005 been the flat track bullies they are. Unfortunately they have too much depth to see out the likes of Wigan, Hull KR and the others bar Leeds.

Fine...In reality St Helens Long is not one of the Saints superstars anymore if he was he wouldn't be off to Hull next year and clearly Saints feel they can do without him and still be the second best side in the league. IMHO the player they miss most when he's not available is Gidley!

It is certainly the time for the Young players to step up now if they want to prove they do have a future with the club - Eastmond will really have to step up now and prove he is capable if he wants to beat Smith to a place.

Cunningham is going to be a harder one to replace now simply because the expected replacement is on loan at the moment but hopefully we don't miss him too much.
