| Quote ="HXSparky"The general opinion at the Fax game today was that our first game would be at home against Leeds. We could have it wrong, and I'm sure Sky will have some influence on the fixtures, but we're buzzing about having you visit and hope you turn up in numbers. We don't realistically expect to beat you, but we have a great defensive mentality and we could be a tough old nut for you to crack. Any which way, this fixture is the only one we'll have with any significant number of away fans, as our other games at the Shay are against Toronto and Salford.
'"
I certainly hope that I can make the Halifax game as I haven't seen my old school teacher Andy Hardcastle (also the Halifax Historian too) for over 30 years

| Well if the televised games are on Saturday again,
FC Halifax are at home on the 11 August, 18 August, 8 September and 22 September so on those weekends it would have to be Sunday and therefore not televised
Ealing Rugby Union are at home on the 11 August, 1 September, 15 September and 29 September
Yorkshire Cricket have a T20 on Friday 17 August and a county champ match over the 31 August & 1 September.
Halifax and London usually play on Sunday at home and Widnes are Friday or Sunday.
Presumably Toronto will only get SKY coverage for away matches or does the Premier deal not cover the qualifiers?

Doesn't that give us some sort of advantage playing what could be two decisive games at the end at home?
And people were moaning that Toronto could play all their away games in one go before ending their play offs all at home.

Don’t think the south stand will be fully/open/complete this season. Probably the whole of the paddock will be complete ,but the rest of the project including bars and seating highly unlikely. Hopefully I will be proved wrong.

| Has anyone got a graph showing league positions over the season?
It seems like we were progressing ok before just free-falling. Somehow even Catalans managed to overtake us so just interested to see how it actually panned out.
Just figured this is the kind of thing someone on here would probably produce or have

Was talking to somebody in the pub Sunday afternoon (don’t laugh) who is working onsite he said they haven’t started the installation of the seats. Nor have they started the fit-out of the bars and other entertainment areas.

Indeed, not certain what you do for a living but I was a subcontractor in the building industry (retired) . The seating installation is relatively simple. That type of work you can increase your operatives. It’s the fit out electrical/plumbing / bar area etc etc that’s time consuming, plus August is the main holiday time. Going back to my previous comment, will be surprised if the whole of the stand is complete by August 21st.

| I can't see why the full standing/seating will not be complete for 21st. As long as the statutory safety systems are in place it should be open. The paraphernalia can come later.

Interesting this is above. Makes me think:
Toulouse H
London A
Halifax A
Hull KR H
Salford H
Widnes A
Toronto H.
Premier Sports apparently cannot cover the middle eight games as they are part of the Sky contract. Would be nice if they have Catalan & Toulouse on different weekends at home and have the extras on sky.

I think we will be 2nd with Hull KR at the top, however our league position has given us the easiest home games, whilst having lost a lot at home we haven't been hammered so I think the home advantage will see us through OK I think we will lose to Hull KR but thats it.

| I honestly think them fixtures are very hard.
If we Win this week, we play London six days before the CC final, any player that got a concussion in that game, wouldn’t be able to play in the cc final due to protocol, resting players in that game would be a risk though. Then a potential three super league teams after the CC final which we have always struggled at backing up after a cc final.
I also doubt the Halifax game will stay on Sunday, considering Halifax haven’t got a game on Sky in the first set of fixtures (apart from the Toulouse additional) and I believe they have to show one home game per team, which they only have one of v Leeds in the second set.

I don't think there is any obligation to show any particular team's home games in the middle 8s, that only applies to the full Super League clubs in the regular season.
But still Fax vs Leeds is an appealing prospect from where we are now.
If Leeds start to struggle I can see us being on TV every week at the end. They even showed us on a Friday night last time round.

| Sky and RFL certainly want Toronto in Super League.
That would be a huge game to kick things off but instead we play them as the last fixture when it will probably be a nothing game.
If Toronto play Leeds first game and get stuffed then suddenly their dream doesn't look too good.
It happened the last time we were in the qualifiers. We played Leigh last game and a very mediocre Leeds side took them to the cleaners.
Are this Toronto side better than that Leigh side? Probably a bit but still way off top 8 super league standard and I'm not sure they'll be able to overcome Widnes, Salford and KR either.
