It was only one other that he barged off. You;re confused because he barged Henderson off twice. I like to think that when he did it the second time, he muttered 'You again?' as he shrugged him off.

| Yes he does....
As I Wire fan I really dislike him - consider him a cheap shot merchant and past his best.
But if anyone can get anything out of him it's TS and from what has been reported if he steps out of line he'll be out of Wire.
There's good odds on him not lasting the year because of discipline but let's hope it doesn't come to that.

| I wish him well. He may be all sorts of bad things, but I'd prefer to see him mature and make the best of what's left of his career and beyond than read about him for all the wrong reasons down the track.

So...pay as you play but we don't expect him to play much??

Warrington board
Westwood sucker punches Blake Green, fine
Briers sucker punches Carl Ablett, fine
Wood sucker punches Carl Ablett, fine
Bailey drops down heavily on Chris Riley, WHAT A DISGRACE OF A HUMAN BEING, HE'S SCUM AND NOT THE TYPE OF PLAYER WE WANT AT WARRINGTON BECAUSE WE ONLY WANT ROLE MODELS!!!
Role models such as Joel 'Dog Botherer' Monaghan of course.
The meltdown over on their board right now is great. 4 different threads in reference to the Bailey signing with the main one already being 19 pages long and the first mentions of people refusing to buy Season Tickets because of this signing.
Classic Bailey

Hilarious stuff
All very OTT though. He has only signed a 1 year deal, probably on peanuts and with stipulations. You would think he had been signed the same terms of contract Asotasi has just finished the way some of the wire fans have reacted.

| Some people on their forum laughingly suggest Les Boyd was preferable - a genuine hardman. That may be but he was also guilty of one of the most vicious and cowardly attacks ever seen in pro RL when he smashed Darryl Brohmann's jaw with his elbow (very Moriarty-Waddell). That's what gets me. There is zero footage of Bailey doing anything remotely in that league of thuggery, and a guy who has played pro RL at prop for over a decade is somehow a coward.
I don't think Bailey came close to being as good as he could have been, but the hysteria over a squad player is ridiculous.

| I second what Biff says above.
Like him or loath him, he was a cornerstone of our pack for a decade. He's a winner, pure and simple. He will add some much needed experience and aggression to wires pack and is on a claused contract to keep him ont strait and narrow.
The fact some wire fans can't see past their own nose is neither here, nor there...

| I think there is also this to take into consideration, imo Bailey left Leeds to HKR believing he was a bigger star than he actually was.He came down with a bump there and failed again to get back on the horse at Cas.He has had a few months to digest it all and I'm sure it's been made clear by all and sundry that this Wire chance is really last chance saloon at top level.I expect him to approach this challenge with far more effort and determination than the last season. It remains to be seen, but I'm tipping Ryan to go well and earn a new deal with a few wire fans eating humble pie come October

I hope and think you are right about him being smart enough to work out this is probably his last shot at top flight rehabilitation. The response from some on the Wire board is comically OTT, you'd think they'd used their marquee spot to bring him in. If he goes well for them, you'll struggle to find one of them that didn't think it was a shrewd move by TS.

| He's an average player but found his niche in the leeds team 04-14.
Since he's left the comfort zone of leeds his averageness has been laid bare for all to see.
The frothing at the mouth is ridiculous. These people are idiots. Bailey has never really done........anything! Odd high tackle here and there, occasional facial. Kids stuff.
He's not a dirty player of the game as such. You'd think he was Terry Newton level, running round with his elbow trying to kill people.

Why is the Meltdown great or unexpected?? the first page of your own forums thread on him starts with these nuggets below...all from Fans of Leeds who know Bailey better than any Wire fan.....
how could we win...? we sign Bailey and all explode, and you find it funny. We sign him and say "hey do you know what those Leeds fans haven't a Clue this Bailey feller is going to be fabulous,he'll get us to some more finals and be a great influence on our young academy players"...
crack on with these...but I guess you already know....
Quote Bailey's as good as gone and his SL career with it too
If any Championship club fancies him then more fool them,But Queens could well be his next destination otherwise'"
Quote If any team ever needs to show a bad example to a player to calm them down then it seems Bailey and Hock are great examples,'"
Quote Agreed - both wasters that have had careers not to be sniffed at..... Bailey was extremely lucky to last how he did at Leeds. Unfortunately some of his mates careers suffered when he was the main ring leader - Calderwood is the greatest example - he could've been an absolute legend of the club if he'd have binned his mate and focused on his career more.'"
Quote Good player! The shiftless good for nothing was allowed to steal a wage for too long. It's great to see props that run hard and straight.'"
Quote he writing was on the wall when he started missing training at Headingley. He couldn't seem to care less about his testimonial either.First person to spot him on the doors in town let us know'"

| That selection of comments is what some Leeds fans think. Others are probably a bit more rational - i.e. the guy had huge potential which he never quite realised, but he was genuinely an integral part of the team that won 6 competitions. The club clearly ran out of patience with him, and he really struggled to adjust at KR then Cas.
I quite deliberately called Les Boyd on your forum because some of your fans deify him - yet this was a player that only went to England because nobody in Australia would touch him with a bargepole following two of the most disgusting on-field attacks you'll ever see. I say attacks because neither was the act of a hard man - they were both acts of cowardly thuggery. I don't recall Wire fans at the time of Boyd's signing rushing to burn season tickets in signing such a player, who did far worse than even Bailey ever did.

Doubt that's really about Bailey tbh. Once-vociferous fans don't want to be seen as fair weather by abandoning a team that's struggled so instead they search for "issues" by way of excuses. A few Wigan fans sulked in the same way when we turfed them out the play offs from fifth, claiming that the regular season was meaningless and they wouldn't be renewing. Our board would be no different; I bet similar threats would have been made in the "name of god, allah, go McDermott go" thread, had we not won the 2011 and 2012 titles.

| Warrington Wolves will start the new season without England utility back Stefan Ratchford and two of their new signings, Mitchell Dodds and Ryan Bailey.
Bailey will miss a reunion with his old Rhinos team-mates after being booked in for surgery in London next week to correct a mystery complaint that has dogged him for the past two years.
Warrington coach Tony Smith said: "He's been struggling with what was thought to be an Achilles problem for two years but, when we investigated, it was a muscle that some people grow around their Achilles.
"Not many people have it but he's got it in both legs and he pulled one in training.
"We're getting him operated on early next week and he's out for six to eight weeks which puts him out for the first four rounds."
"He's been in some dark places for the last couple of years," said former Leeds boss Smith. "He didn't cope well with leaving Leeds.
"I've been getting treated for the wrong injury for the last two years," said Bailey at Warrington's pre-season media day.
"That's what's been frustrating, that's why I got so down.
"I'm excited now because, once it's operated on, it's gone away forever. Hopefully I'll only miss four or five games."

I reckon Bailey has 12 in his trophy count compared to the Warrington squad combined of 16.
