No I don't think that is the only reason. Dont get me wrong weve some poor players but Weve brought in some quality and are still struggling. Merrin Hurrell Lui Ava Martin... plenty of quality. Yet we're joint bottom.

We have to leave Agar out of this garbage,it is not his fault.I have stated before that GH took us to the heights and now he is taking us down.It will take KS another 2/3years to correct the mess the club is in(McDermott is not blameless in this).We as supporters have to face the fact that the squad is appalling and could well be"gone"

In the backs we only have Myler out, and he's been as poor as anyone far too often. In the forwards Ward would make a difference but who else? We're frighteningly close to full strength and yet still in the mire.

I think we're kidding ourselves thinking wane or anyone else would turn our shambles around.

A quality coach can make all the difference... look at bielsa at Leeds utd with the same bunch of players. Look at Fergie at man utd winning titles with not the greatest squads. A quality coach could have got us mid table at least this year. Yes some of the players aren't good enough no doubt and that will take time but by not bringing someone quality in we r playing a very dangerous game

For me it’s the balance of the side which is wrong. We lack good halves. We lack punch in the pack going forward and whack in D. We have several young lads in the team learning at the same time.

Combination of factors but in this game you’re only as strong as your weakest link.

We have lost quite a few close games this year - handful of points defended or scored and the season could have looked different.

To be fair this is also an anomaly of a year with probably 5 teams all very closely bunched together at the bottom, all with the capability of finding wins here and there.

I know many people don’t rate Agar but with this squad being full of individual errors - I’m not convinced you can coach that out of players in the time we have.

Yes I agree with your squad assessment there.

The halves are the problem for sure and have been all season.
Lui is ok but not great but better than what we have.
Sinfield would not entertain Smith or Wane as they would want to do their own thing and pick their own squad.
Pretty much like Furner wanted and look what happened to him!
I honestly think we will avoid relegation by winning 4 more games but even so it`s still pretty grim.

I know it looks like he's set to stay at HKR, but I think it has to be Tony Smith.

He's far enough removed from the playing group (think he's only coached JJB and Ablett out of current), but it's as much about getting the right coach for the right time rather than someone with good ability.

Everyone says Smith coaches the fundamentals to an obsessive level. He would not tolerate the amount of dropped balls/poor passes we have produced this season. He also promotes and expansive, offloading game which is entertaining to watch and would suit our squad - Merrin/Cuthbertson/Ward etc.

From what I've seen Agar's style is pretty boring, whether we're winning or not!

If true which imo it is then we will continue to go round in circles and tread water with the bottom dwellers of the league. Any half decent coach is going to demand full reign of the squad for a start.

I cant understand why we are not making Wane our number one target. He is a proven Super League winner and will soon sort out the non committed in our squad. I can only imaging GH/KS cant swallow their pride or its politics.

There is zero guarantee that Wane would be effective outside the very specific Wigan environment. I'd be more comfortable looking at coaches who have achieved success in a variety of situations and at a variety of clubs.

I'm at a loss to think who the club have in mind if anyone? I think right now they are like us hoping for the best that we will stumble through and just escape finishing bottom.

Wane would fit with what we need, for where the club is right now imo. Apart from the obvious Wigan link, he fits like a glove. Structure, aggression, passion, defence, bringing through youth and most importantly, very successful.....All things we need from our first team coach. It would of happend by now if it was going to though.

I just dont know .we have a bad defeat and the word is we need a such and such a player , the club make another signing and another poor display . It looks like they don't know which way to turn .

From what I am reliably informed, we can’t make an outside appointment until the Furner issue is resolved, as we are massively responsible with it. Well we can make an appointment, but the risk is we will be paying for two coaches at the same time, and the possibility that we could still be forced to take Furner back.

So dismissing Furner may not have been because of results then ?

We definitely approached Powell. The man himself confirmed it to a really good mate of mine after hed bumped into him at a festival.

From what I understand, and this is by no means gospel, Sinfield and Furner fell out mostly about a single player, but generally about the culture and attitude around the place. Furner wanted to make changes but he wasn’t allowed, and then started trying to upset the Apple cart. All allegedly of course.
