What was the reason given for the contractural arrangement to let cars park on the rugby pitch at international cricket matches ?

It involved the council somehow and was offered as the excuse when Leeds Rugby Ltd owned the cricket side of the ground too didn't it ?

When it was last explained several years ago it sounded like a "we're stuck with this situation for the time being..." sort of excuse, now that the cricket ground is buggah all to do with the rugby club what other reason could there be but financial and it doesn't really do that much damage anyway given that we've scrapped the underfloor heating and can just respike the pitch when the cars have gone ?

The Rugby pitch is probably more sand than soil, i presonally dont think it'll do an harm to the pitch. Having a 3tonne (atleast) tractor parked there for a full day would do more harm and it will be a week til we have a game on there (if the game is finished tomorrow as expected)
