Johnson really has a complete game, terrific prospect. If he works hard this pre-season there’s no reason he can’t play first grade next year with Dwyer. I think he’s about there.

Great way to finish the season, especially considering that we were missing our best prop. Lui was excellent and I thought he combined well with Myler, one swallow doesn't make a summer, but a glimpse that maybe they could become an effective partnership if they are together next season.
Johnson did well in the short stint he had, shame he didn't get a bit longer. Would be a gamble to start next season with only him and Dwyer mind. If Lunt was fit but not selected it makes you wonder if he will be released.

Agree about Lui had his best game for Leeds great hands and put some big hits in.

I think it goes to show, RL is very different to football in that the team is much greater than the sum of its parts. They seem to think that because they’ve a flash owner it’ll translate into trophies.

We need a top class number 9. Corey is a level headed lad, hes going to be a good player for a long time for us and hes going to play a lot of games for us but hes not there yet. He did all that could be asked of him tonight though and well done to him. Believe me there are plenty more good kids like Corey desperate for a chance.

Thought Lui was good tonight, shame our starting 9 keeps throwing the ball to his ankles tho. He controlled the team well tonight.

Ward is sensational but we have to be careful with him. Expecting him to play 80 mins after such a long lay off isn't sensible. Martin, Ward, Merrin feels like a solid back row for next year.

Walker was used to link into the line more tonight and that needs to be developed more in the off season.

Agree with this. Dwyer is an impact hooker with a poor pass, he needs to be on the bench with a proper hooker starting at 9, if none are available we need to keep Lunt.

Martin, Ward and Merrin are all class, if the 3 of them stay fit and injury free next season we will go well.

Dwyer doesn’t need to be on the bench. Johnson needs to be on the bench (where the tactic is two hookers). We need a quality top class hooker to bring along Johnson.

Dwyer doesn’t fit into that and we should be more ruthless. Most of his game is exciting and good to watch, but he can’t get the fundamentals right. That luxury is something we can’t carry.

I agree and if we cant find a nine I would go with Lunt and then bring on Johnson.If he starts to tire then rest him for a few games and bring on Dwyer.Dwyer really needs to work on his passing if it wasn't for Lui's good hands we have knocked several times in good attacking positions.

I think Corey could make a contribution at first grade next year. Not 80 mins every week of course but in spells - he needs a hard pre-season and then we’ll see.

Guys we are going to have to live with some imperfections next year, I’d get used to the idea. Take comfort in the fact that we are in far better shape now than we were, and the squad had lots of realistic potential to improve.

The good thing is now that Corey has had a taste of SL he should now be tearing the house down in pre-season to get another go and all the other young lads should see they can have a piece of it too and it should push them on to have a big off season too.

That's why it's important to keep bringing them through gradually.

Sinfield's decision to bring in Lui and Rhyse Martin at a critical time of the year was a gamble but one to looks to have worked. They have both improved the team. We was desperate for half back and I know we did everything to bring Hastings to Headingley but Lui has been a steadying influence on the team and Martin has added mobility to the pack and looks a fantastic kicker too.

Lots of work to do and the transition will continue. Good to end on a win tho.

Remember 2014 & 2015,post challenge cup win hangovers are common. Interesting to see if they can bring it back in the play-offs. They will need to be a ton better than last night though.

Heard agar saying Johnson has only started training full time after finishing studies , so a big pre-season for him, Muizz and possibly Dupree should see them getting more chances/ on loan in championship chances next year. That will also put guys like Cameron Smith under pressure to improve or Muizz will go past him imo.

They all played well last night, the team was top draw, the best home game this season for me. Sat behind their coach, I thought their coach was level headed, not a chance, how wrong was I, what a nasty temper he has. The defence when Ward was on was awesome and it’s a shame when he went off injured they scored on the side where he was defending, Ward was gutted when he had to go off, he was sat in the dug out, he looked distraught, does anyone know what injury he has. It did not look good, but fingers crossed it won’t be serious.
GH did let out that Agar is going to Australia today, he followed this up by saying expect some movement of players in the coming weeks . Interesting, since the Gale deal has quietened down, maybe they cannot agree terms with him

Blake Austin and Daryl Clark are the main men in that team and Stevie Ward wrapped Austin up all night. I wish we had Daryl Clark I think hes a super player.

I think it’s underestimated how much we have missed Ward he’s a fabulous player. On the injury Agar said it was a dead leg so nothing to worry about.

He has a full off season to get fully fit .I just want the lad to get a decent run
