| It doesn't matter what decisions went for us or against us, at the end of the day the players that took the pitch last night, have enough experience, and more than enough ball, and field position to win the game. But we didn't.
Would watkins or one of aiton and burrow made a difference? I definitely think so yes, but Wigan deserved the win, so no major complaints from me, just move on to next week

| After the latest episode of thggery by McIlorum it is clear as to why he is still known by some Queen's supporters as "Mental MIckey"

Exactly, in fact why didn't he just punch Williams while he was at marker so he couldn't make the next tackle...

In every tackle you will see the tackled player struggling to get the tackler off them often this includes kicking out - what McGuire did id not unique it happens in every game.
Perhaps you would like to comment on Dudson's off the ball shove on McGuire or McIlorum's shot on Peacock?
As I said before the best team won on the night - these comments are not sour grapes just genuine observations of what I saw.

I will comment, both foul play; but I'm not trying to justify foul play, you are.

| I must admit came on this thread to have a bit of a giggle at all the indignation but, 'Worlds' Apart' notwithstanding (God! He's an embarrassment, isn't he? ) you guys have taken it for what it was; a young 'up for it' team doing whatever was needed to best their much more experienced and supposedly game aware counterparts. Both teams sailed close to the wind at times. For every McIlorum high shot on JP, there was Bailey's forearm to the face in the tackle, for every Dudson push off the ball on McGuire there was his petulant kick into William's chest in return. It was a good, tough game played with lots of aggression and, as posted elsewhere on this thread, Wigan just did it that little bit better. I posted after the last match that I felt the games between the two sides would be equally contested this season and that the results could go either way. From a Wigan perspective, however, it was great to see such a young side able to hold their own and more this time around. Great spectacle and here's to many more like it!

| They played exactly the same two weeks ago against us yet we managed to still outplay them, although they upped the thuggery yesterday to grab the win
constant Holding down at the PTB (which again wasn't penalised until 30 mins had gone)
Third man always smashing in to torso of the ball handler
Holding down with the forearm pressed into ball handlers face on multiple occasion.( only penalised once)
and just 80 mins on niggling gamesmanship from them and expected no less from them yesterday.
Its obviously premeditated tactics, which I wouldn't be proud of if I was a wigan fan

| Above was the tactics used two weeks aga.
See Cas vs Leeds for a hard fought very competitive game of RL without the need of gamesmanship and thuggery.
Yesterday's game has no place in todays RL, give me a game similar to Cas v Leeds any day of the week

| theres no doubt wigan pushed the limits last night, especially at the PTB. they slowed it down to a crawl.
however in any sport players push the referee and if he is going to be weak and let things go then players will take advantage. no problem with wigan in doing this, they simply exploited it better than we did

| Obviously I've not seen any of the game yet and come on here to get a relatively fair fans report on the game all these Wigan fans weren't posting on here a few weeks ago except Rogues who always comes on whatever. I respect Rogues opinion once you get past is humour so I will wait for him. However it does appear that the Burley road Oaf does have an agenda against his home City club.

| Can we please stop using the word "thuggery" for some niggle and needle. It's embarassing.
Wigan did indeed have a plan to slow the ruck down. The success of that plan is to quickly get a feel for where the ref's limits are and then try to get as close to that as you can at every PTB thereafter. That's exactly what Wigan did. Is it frustrating? Of course it is. That's the idea. Nowt wrong with it though. Wigan lacked some of their key attacking players and were never going to win a fast flowing, open game. So Wane stopped it being one and made it about collisions, contact and enthusiasm. They won that battle to dictate the pace, then once they had the game they wanted, they won it.
Well done to them. There are lots of ways to win a game.

You are posting with one eye closed - McGuire's kick out is normal in the game - it happens in every game hardly foul play especially when compared to Dudson, McIlorum and Crosby. Perhaps your view of could play only extends to one individual?

Interesting how you only notice 'offences' from the opposition, isn't it? (you do realise the second you posted isn't even an offence, don't you?) Didn't you not notice When Bailey lead with his elbow or McGuire kicked out at the PTB or that it was the Leeds players who were 'running in', even for a straight forward offence like the JP high shot for example? It wasn't even a particularly notable penalty...just the sort of thing that happens EVERY game.
You do realise that the tempo of the ruck is dictated by the referee and not yourself, don't you? Just because you don't like it when your team's ruck is slowed down doesn't make it an offense. I could understand it if Leeds were getting consistently penalised for holding down when Wigan weren't but that simply wasn't the case. Both teams got penalised when they overstepped the mark.
You need to take a leaf out of your coach's book (or posters like El Diablo for that matter) and accept that you were out thought, out played and out enthused yesterday. Not by much, but enough to get the win. To moan about the referee makes you look like a poor loser; unless that's what you are, of course, in which case...carry on!
Oh! And for the record, we're VERY proud Wigan fans today. Not because of the win, which in the scheme of things is no more or less important than the one 2 weeks ago, but by the fact that with over a dozen players missing including half our first choice 17 we were able to put in such a strong and committed performance.

There's only you trying to excuse foul play because it was one of your players, and you're accusing others of being one eyed!
If McIlorum had kicked a Leeds player you'd be petitioning parliament to bring back the death penalty.

I believe there is a difference between trying to scramble up to play the ball quick and kicking an opposing player. In my opinion there was intent on McGuires part to kick Williams, clearly you disagree which you have the right to.
As I said in my previous post, there WAS foul play by some of the Wigan players, which I'm not defending.

| He didn't kick at the player though did he? The player had hold of his feet in the air, and he kicked out of the hold. Yes he may have caught the player, but that was a consequence of the holding, rather than the intention of McGuire.
