| what's everyones opinion on Jordan Lilley?
i've only seen him play a few times but i've been impressed with what i've seen
he seems like an organising 7 with a good kicking game, and his and Sutcliffes games seem to complement each other
do we reckon he will get a few games this year?
does he have the potential to be our future half?

That said, Leeds did enjoy a prolonged period of excellence when money wasn't the over-riding factor that ensures they remain a famous club over forty years on.'"
Exactly. This original debate started when a contributor stated Leeds Utd have never been a "big" club, which was a ridiculous statement. They didn't win as much as they deserved, they never had real massive crowds like some other teams, but the legacy of the "great" Leeds Utd team lives on to this day and makes them still one of the biggest names in British football. I'll be over to the Canaries in a couple of weeks where I'll go to a bar where a Venezualan lad works. Have a guess what, when I first got talking to him and my home city was mentioned he just smiled and said "Leeds United". As the Leeds Utd away support ironically sing, "we're not famous anymore".

Likewise I've only seen him a few times, but the club seem to rate him. He might get a cameo in the cup if we're against a weak side, but I can't see them throwing him in to the mix this season. Probably more game time next year and depending what Sinny and Mags do. I think he's only 16, so plenty of time to develop.

| Jordan's got two more seasons at Academy level I think.
Give him another year at his own age group, maybe a few games out on dual reg to get used to playing against men. Way too early to be throwing him in at SL level on a regular basis.

Be careful, we don't want to derail the footie thread. I thought this was an RLFANS forum but recently it's been more like "All our yesterdays" trying to recall glory days of the round ball team.

youve now said this about 3 times. i couldnt be bothered pointing out the obvious to you before but now i can.
"It is a RL forum and they do have RL thread on WACCOE which is separate"
this ISNT the LUFC thread, this is the 2015 Leeds Rhinos Squad thread. it says it right at the top of the page. Why not create a LUFC thread to talk about them instead of derailing this thread to the point that i cant be d checking SS for posts because its been you guys moaning about a bloody football team.... would it be that hard?

Apology accepted. As for "picking up the baton and running with it", I responded to a statement that you made and have subsequently had an ongoing debate with you. You are entitled to your opinion just as I am. You don't think Leeds Utd have ever been a big club, whereas I believe they are one of the biggest clubs in English football history. I'm happy to leave it at that.

I know for a stone called fact they had initial talks with him and George back in October about signing for 2016 season, but don't know if it went further. I was actually quite confident they must have done that deal considering how we have gone for 2015 (thought they were saving for that one).
I was also told that when Mossop changed his mind about signing that Leeds approached Souths and Luke to see his availability for 2015. Obviously nothing happened there.

| Not sure why anyone thinks Luke would want to come back to the UK if he had offers from other NRL clubs on the table, let alone back to a club that were by all accounts hardly busting a gut to keep him last time he was here.

I will be 51 (perfect age for a Leeds prop) and the way I'm putting on weight I should be bulky enough by 2016 season. I'd probably only be looking for a Kirke type salary and I really like people, so I am sure I would be great to have around the squad.
In seriousness, this is a question I've seen asked on this board since pretty much 2004, before we signed Peackock (who was not seen as a prop by everyone on here at the time).

| Back on topic - LUFC scrounged a win against the Cherries last night. Does anyone know the attendance?
Can't see there being any more signings for 2015 now, sadly.
