What injury does Martin have? Is he likely to be back?

Not sure how anyone has Mellor as a certain starter. Looks absolute gash so far, really poor. Defence woeful yesterday, and poor with ball too.

I wouldn’t automatically pick Donaldson, but over Mellor currently every time.

I know it’s early days in his Leeds career but what I’ve seen so far just reinforces the view I had when we announced his signing.....in terms of pointless signing in my eyes as he offers nothing different to what we already have in our 2nd row options.

I know we were linked with him before we signed Mellor, but I would have taken Josh Jones from Salford every day of the week over Mellor.

I’d even have Sutcliffe in over Mellor and that’s from someone who doesn’t think Sutcliffe should be anywhere near the match day squad if/when everyone is fit and available.

I kind of agree but it is early days, FWIW id have Donaldson in over Mellor at this stage, he may not offer huge amounts in attack but he is absolutely solid in defence and doesn’t shirk a thing, been a teal positive signing for me

Mellors defence for Salfords 2nd try was awful.

Mellor has played 3 games. Let him settle at the club. Personally i thought he had a decent game v KRnt. Hes mobile. As a back up player he will be fine.

Me too, think he is pacey enough and may start to see what he can do on drier tracks.

I didnt think Mellor was too bad others conceded cheap penalties dropped passes & missed tackles yesterday especially 1st half.

Mellor missed more tackles than anyone as I suspected. Nine missed tackles and he was only half the number of tackles made of Smith. He’s looked very poor so far. Hopefully that will change later, but for now he should be down the pecking order.

He looks like another Huraki to me, massive improvement needed

Well, we have a reserve side now. Personally I reckon he might turn out ok but hopefully we're now in a place where players don't have to be played back into form in the first team.

I'm still dubious of starting Myler at hooker.let Dwyer do the hard stuff at the start and let Myler cone on later when he can make an impact on attack. Cant see Myler making 40-50 tacklea against fresh legs.

I was just typing the exact same thing. People can argue that Dwyer is best against tiring defenses but Myler is better for the team. Keep him fresh and keep him in the bench at the start. Myler knows the sort of ball Gale wants and needs and it's shown already this season that they have a good understanding

Dwyer for me ignores Gale and goes solo or right to Lui who imo just isn't good enough too often for me he did it last year with Myler.
Yesterday at least 5/6 times Gale had plays set called the moves only for Dwyer to ignore him and you could see on a couple of occasions Gale telling him straight.
On what we've so far Myler imo should start at 9 oh and I pick Mclellend at 6.

Think people are being too judgemental about players at start of season we've only played 3 super league games 2 of which we've won and a lot of us are calling for players to be dropped nobody in Super league will be firing on all cylinders and not everyone will be match fit, Mellor might not look like a starter yet but he'll still be learning our systems if his still missing tackles and making errors after 10 rounds then fair enough he deserves to be dropped, Lui might not look anything at the moment but him and Gale could be a very good and organised half back pairing, if we through McClelland in half on this forum will be calling for his head if he makes errors or puts poor kicks in let him learn his trade at Fev and in reserves his time will come especially if Lui is still looking poor later on in season. It's hard to please some fans we've won 2 from 3 so far so why change winning teams unless theres injuries I think the club is moving in a very good direction again young players seem to be stepping up more each game and Gale and Prior are the sort of experienced first teamers we needed this season. Let's judge the team after 15 rounds of Super League and see where we are.

Mellor needs time. Hes young. Hes got talent but he needs time. I'm sure he'll come good.

We all agree it's early days for Mellor. Extremely early - 3 games.

But we also all agree he's been useless in the 3 games he has played.

Plenty of time to improve.

Early days for Mellor we all remember Senior and Peacock in their maiden season neither were pulling up any trees.

Looks like Matty Ashton is out for them, big blow for them he looks a real find and his pace could have really hurt us.

Yeah he's been a bright spark for them thus far, huge loss.
