If the lass that won Gold at the Olympics for sliding down a hill on a tea-tray can get an MBE for "Services to Sport" then surely Super League's all time leading points scorer, only Captain to lift the trophy 4 times, etc etc etc, surely that's more a "service to sport" than doing REALLY WELL at just one competition?

We've had so many threads about him not being recognised though. This would seem to be the only way to get him noticed - I can't see the queen doing it off her own back.

I too would like him to be offered one such 'honour' and like it even more if he ever so politely tells them to stick where the sun doesn't shine.

Kevin's kicking benefited immensely from the coaching of John Callard. And by association is very highly regarded in a lot of union circles as a good lad, a great player and one of the best knickers in the game.

I don't think you're far wrong there to be fair.

If you hit a 'pressure kick', the next time you have one your brain would think "The pressure wasn't a problem last time so I should be ok here." Next time it happens you're "Well, I've hit 2 of these so I'm clearly ok at handling pressure." Before you know it you've made a habit of it and thinking about the pressure of the situation doesn't even enter your head. It's all psychological.

A friend of mine is in Afghanistan. He says you'd be amazed at how quickly you become accustom to bullets flying past just a few feet or inches from your head. If it happens often enough, the brain very quickly treats something that you or me might find as high pressure, or extremely terrifying, as 'the norm'.

Sinfield's 'Pressure Kicks' have certainly happened often enough for it to be just another everyday part of his job.
