There are two broad points here.
1. How GH is handling the specific Seggy issue. I believe he is well within his rights to kick up a stink. I agree it will probably be to no avail but just letting a player walk literally days after her signed an extension and then us having to pay for a replacement is not on. He has to make a noise about that.
2. The wider 'contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on' issue we as a sport find ourselves facing. Something has to be done that deters players from going rogue and protects clubs. Of course if a player AND club come to a mutual agreement that is different.

I will watch with interest how the Seggy, Sandow and Solomona pieces end.

Let's be honest, those criticising the stance of GH on this issue have a clear and consistent agenda with all things concerning the club. If GH had just released JS you could bet your life the same people would accuse him of setting a precedent by rolling over and taking it up the backside.

You only have to look at the main ringleader to relies it's yet another poor, tired troll attempt.

You would think after 10+ years folk could see through the agenda.

I'd just like to point out - I'm usually one of GH's biggest supporters, and believe he is THE most important addition ever in our clubs history, and would in no way wish for him to move on from Leeds.....

But I do think he's played this one wrong.... As I said before, I'd prefer to play the 'see you later, we're bigger and better than one individual card'... And even if he is holding out for a fee, I don't agree with the bravado quotes in the press - I feel it belittles GH and the club and makes us seem a little desperate...

To use a weird analogy, it's like when someone has been cheated on by a husband/wife, and all they do is go around telling everyone how much they've been hurt and talking about their divorce..... NOBODY CARES.... Move on.... Get a life....

Except in this case people do care. The NRL clubs who may want Segeyaro.

The press statements are directed at them. That seems sensible to me.

It's also about drawing a line in the sand and ensuring NRL clubs start paying transfer fees.

I agree that if you focus on the one incident Leeds are probably wasting their time. If no club wants to pay a fee for him, then we won't be able to get one. But that doesn't mean we should rollover and take it. By making the player struggle and the NRL club not get their own way it shows that certainly the club won't be taken advantage of. Hopefully, when combined with the cas reaction to Solomona clubs can unite to stop contracts being welcomed on.

i was told this afternoon that segeyaro could finally be announced as a cronulla player after a transfer fee has finally been agreed between the 2 clubs and that it's now just a case of tying the loose ends up before he is paraded in his new number 9 shirt

i expect him to be fully up to speed with the cronulla drills and will be making the trip over for the wcc game v wigan judging by the amount of time he's been training with their players,that is of course if he will be ok with being so far away from home
